Common_mp.ff is different from server

Hey guys;

Just uploaded all current patches for COD 5 WoW and am trying to join multi-player games and am getting "common_mp.ff is different from server" message. How do I fix this?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Livefree,

I did a bit of Googling on your problem and found: Download common_mp.rar from FileFactory.com

The file goes in C:\...\Call of Duty - World at War\zone\english. Please be aware that I have not had this problem and have not downloaded the above linked file. So, I cannot verify if this will fix your problem. And, of course, please be sure to scan the file with your favorite AV program before using it.

Thanks Mindkill. I had done the same but you need a utility to extract a .rar file and each option is asking for money and for you to open an executable file.

I was kinda hoping the answer was just to reinstall one of the patches.

Unfortunately, COD web site is not very user friendly to get answers to questions like these - I spend considerable amount of time searching forums.

To me that says there was a problem in one of the updates or how the updates where installed. here is a link to where I host all the updates http://sog-tactical.net/88th/files/c...y_waw/updates/ . I would uninstall the game and delete any left over stuff from the uninstall, things like folders ect. Then try reinstalling the game and go thru each update one by one. till you get to update 6 that is the most current one.

Wow, I wasn't aware that WinZip and WinRAR had both gone commercial. This makes me sad.

Anyways, I looked around at TuCows.com and found a few free zip/rar programs. Quite a few are listed as shareware, but I managed to find a freeware program here.

I have never had any problems with files from TuCows, but it would still be a good idea to scan the file for virus'/spyware before using. I'm not saying you wouldn't have done this, just putting in the disclaimer for future people that happen to read this thread.

A trial copy of WinRAR 3.90 will give you 40 days to do with it what you wish. After that its on your own conscious whether to delete the application as you will get a default screen to remind you to purchase the program before continuing to take advantage of it.
