Mic Problem

I have a Sennheiser headset. Before CoD BlackOPs my Mic was working perfectly. Then I got BlackOps...And then march comes and my mic doesn't work! I tried Realtek HD, OPtions in TS3 which Bad told me to try but nothing happend. What do I do?

First, I notice you say Realtek HD.. Are you talking about the Realtek HD Audio Manager? If so, I am using the same (or similar) drivers. Here is what mine looks like:

If you have two tabs for your microphone, like I do, make sure that you are on the proper tab (the one with the orange colored check mark) and that it looks similar to mine.

I am assuming that the headset it plugged in properly but, it might be worth it to check. I know I have sometimes mistakenly plugged my microphone cord into the wrong hole.

Does your headset have an inline controller? If so, make sure that the Mute switch/slider is not set to Mute.

Now, move the slider that has the red arrow pointing to it (in the picture below), to the right all the way. Talk into your mic. Did you hear your voice?

Let me know what you find out and then we can continue.

Well, I use the back panel for my mic. it does have 2 tabs. So mine looks different than yours. I'd show you but idk how. On Microphone I have Recording Volume to 100 and PLayback Volume to 100. My (default) format is 16 Bits, 44100Hz (CD Quality). I still dont know what to do.

Ok. Sniper and I have switched over to using Steam IM to speed up the troubleshooting process. If we find an answer, I will be sure to post it here for anyone else having similar issues.

Sorry, a bunch of phone calls came in and pretty much interrupted my train of thought.

Anyways, from what I can tell, after having Sniper go through a bunch of stuff is that the problem seems to be the headset itself. I have instructed Sniper to either: try his current headset on a different computer or try a different headset on his current computer.

Tried it on Differ pc but it still doesn't work. My pc doesnt have Realtek HD, Only on my dads so it must be the headset itself. Thanks for helping MK.
