Error changing maps
This game stinks!!!!
I cannot paly any map other than the Makin Island.
Both in single player and multiplayrer.
Everytime a map change comes up I get some DirectX error and my screen goes black and I have to hard boot.
I have updated PB, loaded the COD patch, no effect.
Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Error changing maps
Over at www.callofduty.com many people have been complaining about the "black screen" problem. Some say to install the latest video drivers for your graphics card, others say to use RAD tools to fix it. And of course, we have the completely retarded suggestion of deleting any modems (because, obviously, modems affect your graphics) you have listed in your control panel to fix the problem.
Me personally, I would go for the updated video drivers.

Re: Error changing maps
I think I remember some folks having to reinstall/update DirectX via the Microsoft website to get it going 100%.

Re: Error changing maps
I also had to re-install Direct X..but I think it was because I was trying to use DX10..

Re: Error changing maps
First thing I tried was a reinstall of DirectX.
Guess, I'll try a new video driver, then the RAD Tools

Re: Error changing maps
Hey Beaker... was looking around www.callofduty.com again and found this. Evidently by rolling back his nVidia drivers, updating DX, and updating to .NET 3.5 with SP1 fixed his problem. Also, he has links in his post to the Microsoft stuff. Might be worth a try.

Re: Error changing maps
I switched over and loaded it up on my Vista 64 and have no problems now.
Thanks
