Re: Mod tools released
Installed it today. Thanks Drona, for the info. I won't release a new map until I'm thoroughly pleased with it. May be a month or two.

Re: Mod tools released
I am also downloading the tools. Pretty interested to see how it differs from the CoD4 tools. I actually have a few ideas for maps that I might try:
A POW camp - Medium sized
A bombed church and cratered graveyard - Medium sized
A bombed out stretch of Stalingrad - Large sized. I would like to use this map to test out the size limits of WaW.
Perhaps you and I could collaborate on a purely S&D map for TG?

Re: Mod tools released
YES SIR!!
The tools look almost identical to the COD4 radiant. What sucks is I can't remember how to do half the stuff. I was flying through things towards the end of the COD4 and now it's almost like starting over again. It's amazing how dumb I can get in a short period of time. Or maybe it's not amazing to some people.
House.....did you read the readme file? It's mandatory to run the converter and select a .prj file before doing anything. I'm sure you did. Guys always read the instructions beforehand....hehehe.
The thing about "really huge maps" is that you are/were only allowed so many xmodels in COD4. Then, which I didn't do exactly right, you have to make sure and use light boxes and portals for every section and every room so the map runs smoothly. If you don't portal everything then when you're playing the game, your computer is constantly trying to draw the entire map, instead of only what you're seeing. That's the reason why so many people were lagging on my map. I'm pretty sure I didn't get the portaling right.
It's all so friggin' time consuming but well worth it in the end. I'll, most likely start on a new map this weekend after I eat 10-20 pounds of food.
Turkey Day FTW!
