It's a No Go for me
Sorry, but I won't be on the WaW server much in the recent future. When Treyarch can pull their heads out of their rearends then I'll visit back more often.
I'm frustrated with the sniper scopes not working well. I spec'ed many people and noticed what should be headshots or dead on kills, end up being a shot that doesn't hit anywhere near the person. The maps are not setup well for S&D. The map creation tools do not work well (you'll notice no maps have been created and posted on CODutility). The bouncing betty's go off on the other side of the walls. Aren't bouncing betty's suppose to be stepped on to go off and not just when you're in the proximity of it. And my list goes on and on but I'll stop for now.
Treyarch needs a patch and a patch badly. The game could be great, but it needs some help right now. I'm frustrated with it and I hear many o' many voicing there frustrations with it as well. It's not much fun playing when it's complaining after complaining of things not going well.
Sorry to be so negative about this, but I'm at my whits end of trying to play a game that has too many problems, big and small.
I'll be back when some things get fixed. Until then I'll see you on the MW server.

Re: It's a No Go for me
On Airfield(offense) I went to snipe on the far left towards the back of B, looking through part of the crashed plane...perfect sight picture...hold my breath...when I squeeze off the round my whole scope goes shattered bullet hole. Weak.
You can carry a PTRS-41 (44lbs without ammo) with a Browning 1919(31lbs empty,no base) and an M2 flamethrower(68lbs, filled) and run around like a chicken with your head cut off. Games have been adjusting speed vs. weight carried for a long time so stuff like this is a great leap backwards and reveals the true underlying nature of this title: Run-N-Gun.
Don't get me started. Oops too late.
Some hay bales are bullet proof
2 foot thick concrete walls in some spots are apparently made from paper mache.
Walls, objects and corners that have invisible but bullet proof in one direction protection.
Betties killing the planter, going off behind walls, stupid glowing stem.
Crappy S&D spawn and bombsite placement.
Dome and Courtyard
Spawn sniping on Upheaval.
No practical description of the new squad functions.
Super easy to get stuck on objects
Busted friends functions
Alt-tab crashes
Windows live prevents proper use of mods and redirect.
Co-op is limited to 4 players.
And so on.
I still like the game but expected better.

Re: It's a No Go for me
Thanks Drona! I couldn't remember half of what you posted but agree with you 100%. The game needs some help. Of course, it's very arcadey and isn't suppose to be totally realistic but, come on Treyarch. It could be so good if lots of these things are fixed.

Re: It's a No Go for me
What is really sad, is that they "worked" on this game for what, 2 years or so? It is worse than Cod4, but you would think that they would have had the bugs completely worked out since CoD4 is "mostly" "fixed"...
It is pretty dissapointing to say the least..

Re: It's a No Go for me
send msgs to Treyarch, as you being one of their customers they *value* your opinion. In most cases either they ignore you or they fix your problem its a 50-50 give it a go.

Re: It's a No Go for me
Well despite all the stuff that size and drona listed I still play cause if the cod4 tg server isnt populated and the other one is I will play waw. Just a positive side with WaW. It's still a good game. It didn't top cod4 though. Cod4 is the best cod game ever. I love the single player of WaW. It involves a lot of stuff I have been wanting to see in a WW2 game. Like the other cod game it involves multiple gameplay characters, two different enemies. I like the mission when your in the Catalina fighting in the Pacific. The tank level is fun. It brought Co-op into the picture and did I mention the zombie mode? I agree the multiplayer has defects sure but you can't expect everything to be perfect. Cod4 had some problems too and still does on some maps. I really don't see the need to bash WaW multiplayer so much, but it is frustrating and needs a lot of work.

Re: It's a No Go for me
You're right Hawk. There are a lot of great things about the game and I agree the single player missions were well done. I appreciate what the developers got right, but that doesn't make up for sloppy craftsmanship or poor design choices.
I still think it's a great game, much better than FC2 or GTAIV and I have had many fun hours playing it with my TG brethren and sistren. Sorry for the rant but I forgot to air those grievances on Festivus.

Re: It's a No Go for me
Lets be honest here, I have said this in game a few times, this really should have been an add on pack for COD4 at the most. In reality its not that much different from COD4, its the same basic game engine with little to no improvements on it.
I cant figure out half of the new squad features, and what is the point of them. I cant count the number of times lately that we have had to "lockdown" the server too. More so then I can say we ever have in COD4. But thats more of a player issue.

Re: It's a No Go for me
the limb ripping is not necessary either. but i dont really like it because so far whenever i play our server it gets passworded because of all the people who keep on coming on and playing like a run and gun

Re: It's a No Go for me
Ditto above I've all but given up on 5 prefering to play 4 more often than not just presently.
I have found a few Bolt only 5 servers and some of them are ok but others are still run and bayonet again not very tactical.
Just a point here, I was playing bolt only where we had slowly worked our way into position but the nme was very entrenched so I called for a fixed bayonet charge.
Now that was stunning the suprise element was great and we blitzed them out.
Not sure how we would have fared if they had all got mg's.
We counted it out and all went together with each trooper assigned a task not just a blind charge. Put a different edge to the normal knife/bayonet bit.
It did keep them on their toes as they were always expecting a charge after that which made them move about a lot more looking for us and exposing themselves to our view giving us a take down shot.
I should add that the couple of times I have been on the TG 5 server it was good and tactical but then the familar names were mainly there ....... back to a few passworded nights again maybe."I like a man who grins when he fights"
