Okay. I've downloaded it twice (FilePlanet) and attempted to install. Both times I've received a 1628: file failed to blah blah blah. When I google it I get discussions on server side installs.
Running XP Pro 64 bit, all standard install on WAW
Okay- found the solution.
If you are running XP x64 you will have an issue and will have to manually edit your registry.
The steps are listed here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925336
Your error message does not match that shown - you are getting the "friendly" message while this one is in the Windows Event Log.
You will need to right click and add a DWORD of "PolicyScope" and then right click on PolicyScope and set the value to 1. After completing the install you should follow the directions and reset to 0.

There is a much easier way to fix the problem. Just right click the setup file and use "Run As" to launch the install with the "Administrator" account, even if your account already has admin access. Originally Posted by Skinnyspike
