Re: SOG mod Suggestion Box
Ok, I understand the reasoning behind the frags not being able to be thrown across the map, but I still feel that they need to have a little more distance than they currently have. It just doesn't feel real. I feel like I'm throwing a rubber duck every time I toss one and and I never can make what seems to be a reasonable distance toss with them.
Can we please add about 3 meters to them?

WWII nades were a little heavy and the average joe couldn't throw them very far.

Re: SOG mod Suggestion Box
Has anyone thought about adding an ability to fake a death scream? It would need to have limited use, but it would be a neat ability to have.

Not to mention, the endless entertainment being able to make the gurgle sounds on demand. But, I do like the idea as well, lots of potential for some new tactics.
What about taking Greflin's suggestion to its logical end and making a Spy class? Would that even be possible? Perhaps allow the spy to steal a uniform from a slain enemy, only give them a pistol, etc.

Re: SOG mod Suggestion Box
A spy class would be loads of fun, though people would really need to be communicating well so no one shoots the wrong person. This should be common practice anyhow, but you know.

I still feel they need to be extended ever so slightly. I don't feel that 3 meters would change things so significantly that it would be counter productive...

yeah but those guys were trained with them and they can chuck them pretty far because of the extensive training that caused them to get buff.

Re: SOG mod Suggestion Box
Could I weigh in on the grenade and death cry debate?
Grenades, the allies grenades were like tossing a lead balloon.
The Germans had a nade that was on a stick, so it could be thrown longer distances. It worked in the same sort of way that an "Atlatl" worked.
Definition, "Stone age weapon, An atlatl is a tool that uses leverage to achieve greater velocity in dart-throwing".
But you throw the stick and all with the German grenades. I would like to see the German grenades come back.
I think the distance is satisfactory over all and is realistic, as a hard chunk of cast iron is like throwing a big heavy rock. How ever there really needs to be the use of the other tools that we are given. Such as Smoke, Gas, and Flares. This WWII era game was the reason we now have the road side flare today. ( and Duck Tape to name another)
I really don't see enough people utilizing all the great tools that they have at there disposal.
That being said I don't really now how to use them all ether.
But I try them out.
We should maybe have some kinda try and training night? Maybe one day out of the month we all can set aside for?
Where we all take a half hour and learn the workings of these weapons? Just a thought.
The death cry...humm. That being said (LS) "last stand" I think the guy entered in should be SCREAMING in pain! CoD5 adds a new realm for add-ons I wish we could throw a rock to throw off the enemy.
In CoD2 we had chat commands in which we push "V" the default key, and we had a choice of what to say.
A lot of us used this PERK to throw off the enemy, it was a tool that we ALL USED.
I my self would really like to see a return of this as well.
"Confuse the enemy!"
Here is one I would like to add that Krag I am very sure you are highly capable of.
Add Tank Smoke!! A massive plume of smoke for all the tanks to confuse the enemy.
Is that a feasible one? As a suggestion I could get you some video of tanks smoking on Company of Hero's? Via Xfire video.

Re: SOG mod Suggestion Box
There is an acquired technic to throw a grenade (in the game) very far, and probably very unrealistic. I call it the "jump throw", some people consider it similar to bunny hopping. But if you need some extra distance on a nade lob try it out.
If the enemy is too far away to chuck a nade, shoot them. =D

Re: SOG mod Suggestion Box
I think you guys might be missing the point on the nades...
3 meters is approximately 10 ft. That's not a huge increase...
Every time I throw a nade, it comes up short from what visually seems plausible. I'm not the only one that suffers from this either. I see people coming up short with the nades all of the time. I just don't believe the current setting to be correct...

Re: SOG mod Suggestion Box
Bits, take a 4lb rock and throw it. Now, try and throw it 10 ft farther. Its a huge difference.

I understand that and it's not the point. The point is that it just doesn't feel right in-game...
The reference to it not being a big difference was towards the change in game-play which is the reason that it's stunted as bad as it is.

Some what agree, but maybe a decrease in the gravity? It makes the nade seem to arc a little more. Mite not notice it though.
