Q-port errors
This keeps happening to me and others.
I really advise that you guys look into this issue as well as the horrible lag you experience.
The qport issue: I had to have Mindkill kick me 5 times in 3 maps. 5 Times in 3 maps!
I do really have good petitions when it comes to the Call of Duty Series but that is crazy.
The lag issue is an easy thing but to let you know you will sure to lose any new comer if they get that qport crap.
Please I am not trying to sound rude just matter of fact!I want my... I want my STG 44 That Krag took out!!!!!!

Re: Q-port errors
I wasn't able to reconnect to a map with these errors, resolved when the map changed. Unsure which map, was the one after the river map we did tonight.

Re: Q-port errors
Q port errors can be many things not just server or mod. I have seen custom maps cause them as well it may be the OS also.

Re: Q-port errors
Happens to me if the map doesn't load correctly. I have had to reboot to get rid of it. If an admin is on he can kick you and seem to do the trick.

Re: Q-port errors
I did a little googling today on this problem and found a possible solution.
First, the duplicate qport error is caused when, for whatever reason, you are disconnected from the game server (your game crashes, your internet is momentarily disconnected, etc.), but the game server still "thinks" you are connected. Generally, you either have to wait for a few minutes for the server to release the qport you were connected to, or have an admin kick your "ghost" that is still in game.
From the little bit that I have read this morning and what I have been seeing on the server, this problem arises when trying to load a custom map. The "fix" is to manually delete all of the mod folders for CoD5 that you are not using. For instance, I had the SOG Mod folder, 3 different OpenWarfare Mod folders, a couple TRM folders, and a couple that I didnt recognize. I deleted all of the folders in my mod folder except for the SOG mod and the most recent OW Mod and haven't had a crash loading a custom map since.
Here are is the location of the mod folder for:
Vista: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Activision\CoD WaW\mods
(You may need to "Show hidden files and folders" in Control Panel -> Folder Options, View tab)
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\mods
So, for those of you having problems getting into the server on a custom map, try this and let me know if it works.
The jury is still out on what is causing the server wide lag spikes. Perhaps its time to get ahold of the server provider and see what they say?

Re: Q-port errors
The lag is not the server box or network connection from what I can see. The box is a quad core and barely uses any cpu cycles - 6 - 10 % while running WaW, 2x CoD4 and CoD2. The network pipe is so fat that even with 2 full servers we're only using 1 - 1.5% of net bandwith. There's also plenty of mem and page file space. Also, there are no reports of lag from the CoD4 servers.
Krag suggested I reinstall WaW, which is a major PITA, but might have to get done as that's where the evidence is starting to point.

Re: Q-port errors
I'm really up in the air on it, I think what we should do is this Tuesday WAW use the |SOG| Tactical Mod!!! server. This way I can go through the log and address any errors in it. When we test we dont get enough people in doing all kinds of stuff so it may be something in the Mod. But on the same hand it could be Punk Buster. Maybe Drona If we Change the I.P. address and a fresh install might work to. But I think doing it Tuesday on the |SOG| server will really be a good start.

Re: Q-port errors
I've also removed the PB messages for now to see if that makes a difference with the lag.

Re: Q-port errors
What about setting the time down in which the server times out someone?
Server config setting (set sv_timeout "600").
The server we use running everything mostly the same as you guys we don't have this issue as much. That being said, if we do get the qport problem is a rare thing to have to kick some body.
To give you some hopefully helpful feed back; the server tonight was good till a lot of people joined 3 vs 3 was fine 6 vs 6 was bad.I want my... I want my STG 44 That Krag took out!!!!!!
