Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
I think Oyzar's gonna be leaving the game since he's losing and can't seem to be bothered to finish his turn.
Building the pyramids also gives you access to representation. There's a valid strategy with Caste System and Representation, giving you more research points per scientist. |

With the latest CivStats uploader release, I don't think I've ever seen my Civ4 server this stable. You guys could knock me out and I think it would run unattended for weeks at a time. ![]() Bernout |

Civ 4 is first and foremost a strategy game and diplomacy is part and parcel of the MP experience. Other than asking for no preset alliances, there were no conditions placed on this part of the game. For our particular situation, you were the one who drove the agreement which I'm sure in hindsight you now realize left you at a big disadvantage until such point as it reached completion. I took advantage of it as part of my early game strategy to get out of a fairly crappy starting position. Yes it was a classic backstab and I'm sure we can find lots of similar situations in real world history. This is also part of knowing your opponent. Anyone who has played me before knows I tend to be aggressive and there was no way I was going to sit there for the foreseeable future with 2 cities, one fairly crappy, after you pinned me in with your first city placement.I also think it is poetic justice that CingularDuality finished you off since during our live session you were going to take advantage of the fact that his nation was AI controlled. As I recall he showed up literally in the nick of time there. ![]() I can remove you from CivStats if you like but you can do it yourself from your "home page" at the CivStats site. Bernout |

I'm with Bernout here. You don't simply declare war on someone and then whine when someone declares war on you and takes your city. Your short-sightedness was your downfall. If you expected to gain something by taking advantage of Cingular's AI, you would expect others to do the same to your "dirty" tactics.
