The easiest way to do private communication is via the Private Message mechanism here at the TG site. For public messages, feel free to create a new topic in this forum as needed. We have now easily become the most active Civ 4 group here so there shouldn't be any complaints. :P I already created yet another forum for server problems. Bernout |

I would like to have another 2 hour session. But Snarlin is bussy until new year and i think he s not the only one. Maybe next year we can do it again. We know now what went wrong and i think in the future it will go easier.

I wish I knew why a two dimensional, turn based game has such a difficult time synchronizing 11 players, while the rest of the games here are first person, 3D, 100 location-updates-per-second, 60 players connected at a time and have absolutely no problem synchronizing.

Hamachi certainly seemed to help a lot and the firewall problem we experienced could perhaps be explained with how I have my 2 computers set up. However, you are right that the order in which people were joining was certainly an issue. We shouldn't have to be wasting an hour trying to get everyone in game. The only thing I can think to try different next time is again with respect to the order. Get the people in game first who are getting the version error and then perhaps the higher ping (200+ ms) people followed by everyone else. Oh yes, oyzar should also let me be more of a hard ass on people who don't show up early and aren't on TS2 as requested. TS2 btw I thought was the best part of the whole session...it was great to talk to everyone. ![]() Bernout |

- wife - church - band rehearsal - yardwork - kid1&2 swim practice - kid1&2&3 piano practice - pinochle night - football game - sleep Multiply even half of that by 12 people, include the complexity of multiple time zones and it's quite easy to see why turns can take 24 hours. If the game had been posted as anything significantly less than that, I wouldn't have joined. Snarlin |

Sleep is sooooo overrated.

The best thing to do is expect 1 turn per day and if you can get more than that then it is a bonus. Think happy thoughts by pondering what those poor PBEM guys need to go through. ![]() Bernout |

Same here. I'm usually away from home around 14 hours a day just for work, then you have to take into account household chores, family duties, eating and sleeping.
