ACTF: Server Problems - Page 4

I've finally got a technician from Comcast coming in to check out my Internet connection. The server will be down for a short period sometime between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm MST (GMT - 7).

Just as an FYI, I'm also working with Asch on the possibility of moving it to one of TG's servers. If/when this happens it should be transparent on your end.

I'll keep everyone informed in this topic.

Its up again. just finished my turn.
And i saw that somehow i m nr1 in amount of gold!! I m not an financial civ!

Even though nobody said anything, I went ahead and restored the server this morning to Snarlin's last login. There is almost 13 hours left on the timer as I write this. If I hadn't done this there would have been just under 3 hours available.

I could not log in to the game yesterday or today (and the turn is nearly over). I am not at war, or at least I wasn't

So it's not crucial. But my neighbours are all at war so I really would like a turn. Is there something wrong with the server? Has anything changed? I have done no updates that I am aware of and my other games still work.

Listen guys...the server has been going down usually once per day for at least the last 2 months. CivStats is the best place to see its status although I think it takes about 30 minutes before it decides the server is not available.

As I have repeatedly stated, if you can't take your turn because it is down then post here and let me know how much time you need on the timer so that you CAN take your turn. If you don't give me this information then I do the best I can when I bring the server back up based on how long it was down and what save files are available to me.

If you are missing your turn it is because you aren't helping me out here. The Comcast service guys couldn't find anything wrong with my connection and I'm still waiting on the TG admins for another server to host this on. It's just taking some time.

The server has been restored to the start of Whiplash's last login so he and Wenz will need to redo their turns. There is 13 hours on the timer. Sonnybonds, looks like you already did your turn for 425 AD.

Bernout i didnt mean to be a pain in the ass. You are doing a great job by hosting this game and put the server back on track when its down. I just wanted to say that i cant connect and that there is probably a server error.

Understood and thanks. However, knowing when the server is down is not usually a problem on my end since I check it as often as I can. The issue is what do I need to restore it to? And for that I need your help. So what I'm saying is...telling me the server is down isn't so useful. Telling me it is down and how much time you need so you can do your turn is VERY useful....for you and me.

I apologize if some frustration seeped through in my previous message but I have repeated the above message numerous times already. I do realize it is a more sensitive issue now that we have active wars going on and everyone is trying not to do back to back turns. I hope that all of this will become a non-issue in the near future as I move the game to a different server.

Roger that...thanks. Server restored with 15:30 on the timer. The only one affected was Sonnybonds.

I can't log in and it says on Civ Stats that the loader is not connected. About 7 hours left on the clock.

Server is back up with 4:50 on the timer. It was either that or put up a 12 hour timer or so and have Wenz and Grizz redo their turns. Since it is a Sunday hopefully this works out ok.
