Yeah, that's the right place. Do you have just the one copy of the mod, grabbed from the first post of this thread? If you have other copies floating around then that could be your problem - the one in the first post is a heavily modified version of the original.

Can you load the mod in the advance menu at the main menu? (Independent of connecting to the test site?) Or is that what is failing?
Did you rename the mod? Vista would not let me delete a faulty install, so I renamed to Noscore1, which I could load at main menu, but game would not take.
Had to play with Vista permissions to clean that up ...
And be sure you don't have two Noscore folders layered in, which you can get depending on how you unpack.

I downloaded it from the link on the first post. I looked around and found no other versions lurking.

Yes, I can load the mod usning the "advanced" feature and I've tested it in single play. It runs ok.
I have not renamed anything.
The unzipped folder contains only one Noscore sub-folder.

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
look one level deeper. Open the assets folder inside noscore and post the full path.
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\NoScore\Assets is correct
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\NoScore\NoScore\Assets is wrong.
A broken mod will appear to load in singleplayer, but won't actually take effect. If you start a game that way (advanced, load mod) and then settle your city, does your civ have more than 1pt of score?

Yes, I've read the rules and I've connected to the server. In fact, I just exited out. My Civ4 Player Name is Methos and I'm in GMT -6 (that or -5).

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
Emperor nailed it! I'm good to go. The correct procedure is copy the CONTENTS of the NoScore folder to the mod folder, not the folder itself.

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
Looks like we are looking at a full game!
With Mythos and whiplash both coming in for that 18th spot, in the interest of fairness I gave it to Mythos because he at least supplied all of the information that was requested in the signup topic.
Anyone, including whiplash, who signs up at this point will be added to the backup/reserves list in the event someone doesn't start the game as planned or is in need of a sub.
I would also point out, that anyone who is a TG supporting member also gets priority in the sign up list regardless of when they sign up. So that is always an option for someone coming in late.
And last but not least, I double checked last night and every single person in the sign up list did indeed log into the test server as requested. My thanks to everyone for taking care of that in a timely manner to ensure we get off to a smooth start on Sunday.

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
Will we continue to use this thread after the official game start? If not, please make a post to remind us that the game has started. (I'm liable to forget things otherwise, since I don't regularly check this forum except for email reminders.)

Given this pearl from Elkad/Scrooge (ebewhatever is too long ... ) ... do we need to verify that everyone got into test game and saw all scores as 1 or 0?
Just want to avoid someone discovering a problem on game day.
The NoScore\Noscore issue is what I meant by depending on the unpacking ... if you unpack directly to the mod folder, I don't think you get the duplication. If you unpack to desktop, as I did, you do get the duplication.

No, it will not be possible to connect with the wrong mod, anyone trying would get the protected assets error. This is why it is so important to run the server with an admin password.

When will we learn what civ we are assigned?

Well, at what step of connect would the problem be apparent? I connected to host, selected a civ, set a password, and only on attempting to enter the game did it tell me it needed to load NoScore, (since I had my NoScore1 already loaded), and then could not find NoScore.
So is it possible that folks who only got to the list of civs page have not really confirmed that all is well? Or is it that my NoScore1, being the true NoScore by another name, got me past asset checks?
