Yes, we will continue to use this thread. I'd highly recommend subscribing to this thread plus the server status thread which I will create on Sunday. If you're not popping into these forums on a regular basis you should also ensure you get email notification for private messages.

When I generate the game on Sunday I will post the list here plus create an information topic similar to what I've done in past games (see the sticky topics).
For those not familiar with how this is done it is simple. I make a list of all the player's TG account names in alphabetical order. I then match the person's place in that list to the corresponding place in the list of nations in game.

I suspect that is the case. I recall seeing the error message much sooner than that if the mod was wrong entirely.

Right, it does the mod-check AFTER civselect and transfering data. So in order to test correctly, you need to log completely into the game and actually see your units.

When someone makes contact with me the best way to get in touch with me is via CFC. Either PM there, or email me at methos [dot] cfc at gmail [dot] com. If you prefer to talk to me via IM, then just PM or email me and I'll gladly give it to you.

Are these two replies in agreement or conflict? Is there an asset check early, and a separate mod check later?
If Ebe is right, we may have some surprises come game day?

Please read the signup information again. This TG site is expected to be the primary means of communication between players. Now while there's a lot of gray area there as per my previous reply to Emperor, expecting others to reach you at another web site is unacceptable. If they PM you here you are expected to reply.

It appears I was wrong. I double checked and it is exactly as Ebenezer described. I tried unloading the mod and it did indeed allow me to select the nation and then bitched after the downloading was complete.
I don't think there will be any surprises game day since this doesn't really change anything. You can't actually finish logging into the nation unless you have the correct mod. So everyone who has logged in and done a turn for a nation must have had the correct one. In my little test case I did above my name never showed in the Pitboss window as having logged in.
BTW, I forgot about an online meeting I have tomorrow morning so the server will be up either early (unlikely) or a couple of hours late. In either case I'll post here and send PMs when everything is ready to go.

Okay, thanks. Yeah, I've been getting PM notifications for a while now.

I share you hope. But after I logged in (19th recruit, IIRC), there were only 16 unique players assigned to civs, not the 19 I woulld have expected. Which suggests (but does not prove) that maybe 3 reached the server but did not pick a civ or take a turn. In which case perhaps we are not sure that their mod is intact.
My goal has been to give those few a heads up, so they can double check before game day if they want. But if not, it will sort out soon enough.

Ah...you must have missed my previous reply to that point. People were asked NOT to enter a password for nations. Unclaimed nations is therefore meaningless since more than one player may have logged into the same nation.
What I used to verify logins was the Pitboss server window. It has a message of the day feature which shows as public chat whenever someone logs in successfully.

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
Here's the nation assignments. The server will be going up shortly:
Bernout - Russia, Stalin
da_Vinci - Aztec, Montezuma
Dandridge - Sumeria, Gilgamesh
Dreylin - Khmer, Sryavarin
Ebenezer - Babylon, Hammurabi
emperor - Korea, Wang Kon
hsoft - America, Lincoln
IanDC - Celtia, Brennus
Levgree - Greece, Alexander
Methos - Vikings, Ragnar
millcc - England, Victoria
Morgan - Ottomans, Suleiman
Munro - China, Qin Shi Hu
Niklas - Rome, Augustus
Ronnie1 - Byzantium, Justinian
Rusten - Carthage, Hannibal
Shaq Zora - Maya, Pacal II
Snarlin - Japan, Tokugawa
I'm really surprised Isabella isn't in there. Hopefully there's not too much eye rolling since I know some of you have played your assigned nation recently.

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
Any possibility of doing swaps? I'm kind of sick of Wang Kon, I play with him far too often. I'd be happy to consider swapping with anyone else who's also a bit sick of their allocated leader.

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
Hi. My internet connection died on me on saturday and I'm not sure when it will be back. It could be tomorrow after calling my ISP or it could be more complicated. At any rate, you might want to remove me from the game and let someone else play--I'm not sure when I'll be able to again. Go ahead and bring in the reserve.

I have no objection to this if you can find someone to swap with you.

My post was a bit premature (didn't know you'd act so fast ). I've arranged for a sub in the unlikely circumstance that my internet won't be back in the morning (which it should). I'm good to go after all.

Re: Pitboss BTS: Fog of War - Signups
I don't understand why I'm not in anyway. I entered the test game and played a turn. I also requested to join before others who are now in the game.
