Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
Only Ronnie left to play, I paused the game with 3 hours on the clock to allow him to complete his turn.

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
I'm going to be out of town for a few days and not sure if I will be able to access the game.
I've queued up my orders but if it gets to be a pain running out the timer every day then feel free to kick it to AI in the meantime.
Cheers
Munro

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
Just noticed I accidentally played before Rusten this turn, didn't pay enough attention when playing last night, sorry about that. If there's a problem do yell, otherwise I'll go back to playing after you on next turn. There was no fighting other than some futile bombardment of your destroyers, which shouldn't affect anything at all.

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
Think I broke the server.
Internet hiccuped while I was loading in. Now the server says 'connected to host' endlessly and civstats shows me logged in. Been 45minutes, still doesn't work.

It's nothing you did per se. Once in a blue moon a window will pop up complaining that it couldn't save the autosave file when you log in. At that point the server is in limbo until someone hits the OK button on the window.
I restored the server to Elkad's login and there is 12:47 on the timer as I write this.

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
Dammit.
Errant civics switch..
I'd like a reload (to dandridges login is far enough - about 20 minutes), but it's going to mess up half of niklas's turn, and dandridges..
Talked to dandridge ingame, he's ok with it. But obviously it really isn't required by the rules, so it's kinda up to the rest of you.
Dan may have a problem getting his turn played though, so we might end up paused for a while. (and morgan has to play after him)

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
If you reload please pause the game, since I'm not able to log in again before about 16 GMT tomorrow (monday).

What do you mean by an errant civics switch? That you accidentally switched to the wrong civics?
If so, why would we do a reload for that? I don't want to set a bad precedent here.

Exactly..
That's why I'm asking. I don't think we have a "1 free reload" rule like some games, so it's really up to the other players. Obviously mainly my opponents...

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
I don't mind replaying my turn if that's needed.
I don't have a strong opinion either way on whether to reload or not. I don't mind the precedent, though I wouldn't have asked for it myself.

Sorry but this falls into the "**** happens" category. Who hasn't made mistakes during a turn and wished they could have a do-over? I'm not prepared to start restarting the server for reasons like this.
I'll consider it if it is a major mistake which has serious consequences on other nations, especially in a war situation.

OK. didn't hurt to ask. I take my lumps for mistakes same as anyone else, but this was a genuine accident with a several thousand hammer cost.

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
I have always hated the fact that the exit button in lower right becomes the revolution button once you pick a new civic. At times I have forgotten to hit cancel, and hit the lower right button expecting to exit, only to get a revolt.
Is that what happened?
