Server goes up tomorrow night as planned! Good luck everyone and I hope you have fun.
BTW, you'll notice a 12th nation I somehow managed to add and will show up as being eliminated on CivStats. Just ignore it...I don't think it'll cause any problems but we'll find out soon enough once everyone does their first turns.

Glad you made it Eden! I took the test server down last night but neglected to tell anyone so that is why you couldn't connect to it.
I'm going to go ahead and slot you in for Spain for right now. However, if we have anyone AWOL for the first couple of turns I may need to move you.

Thanks. Up to now, I've only played in 'real-time' games. Are there any instructions for how to connect/when to connect, that I'm missing somewhere?

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
1. Go to MULTIPLAYER
2. DIRECT IP CONNECTION
3. Type in the IP address that Bernout has in another thread.
4. Sign in on Isabella of spain, making sure to set a password.
5. Play your turn, and click "end turn" (I forget this all the time.)
6. Exit the game BY LOGGING OUT TO THE MAIN MENU!!!!! NOT THE DESKTOP!!!!!!!!
By the way, game starts in 2 minutes!
EDIT: If you're the last to play a turn, then the next turn rolls over and you can be the first to play. Check CIVSTATS to see the timer left on the turn.

Server is up! Game on! Let me know if you have any problems. Everyone should have 1 Settler and 1 Warrior/Scout. Also it would be good to double check the game settings; in particular make sure you are at Deity level.
Eden...the server connection instructions are the same as for the test server. I'll forward you the PM I sent everyone yesterday.

We'll need to see if all the advisors are having this problem. If this is so then we may need to try ditching the mod and perhaps just put all the nations at "Noble" difficulty level or something like that.

Let me know if he doesn't show up in the next turn or two and I'll send Eden your way.

Sorry to hijak the thread.. but if anyone still has appetite for more pitboss after this, we're also looking for a replacement for Rome in a 15-civ rocky lakes game here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=8525312
If you're interested, either send me a PM here on Tactical Gamer or reply to the thread or PM me over at Civ Fanatics.
Cheers,
Munro

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
Just to make sure everyone is aware, the Barbarians will be normal for the Deity difficulty level.
Now don't ask me to explain how much tougher they are from say Noble since I've never played Deity on SP and had limited encounters with them in FoW.
But no one is going to neglect their military anyways right?

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
Barbarians on deity are so intense that going archery first after either AH or BW is a necessity unless we start with horses/copper so close to us (literally in the capital's cross). This is even worse in a game like this where there's plenty of space open and no deity AI's to help with fogbusting. In a normal deity game I don't always have to research archery, since I get lots of help from the AI's.
My early game plan is now ruined, as I'll have to stick Archery somewhere.

I'm not sure if your game plan was ruined or was rightfully modified to the situation at hand. Aggressive neighbors are far worse than any Barbarians you'll encounter. I've always viewed them as an easy way to get my troops to 10 XP.
