Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
Oh and I would have no problem with us restarting.

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
Ok...as it stands right now I'll put up the new server Friday evening (likely around 9:00 pm EDT / GMT - 4). I'll post here and send out a private message when/if it happens. Please continue to PM me if you have feedback.
The plan is to run the new server for 3 or 4 turns and see if anyone has any login issues.
The results of that will determine whether we move to an unmodded server.

So, current server is going down?
It'll be hard to replicate exploratory movements exactly, especially having knowledge of the map and any nearby civ's

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
Can't we generate a new map? That will solve the recon issues. Although I really like my starting position

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
I don't think the recon is a big deal so the good news is you get to keep your starting position.

The server is restarted! I decided to make a new save file since I had that bogus 12th nation in the original one.
If you encounter any login issues, I need to know about it immediately! Use this thread or the server problem thread...doesn't matter which, just report it.
Thanks!

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
Well, the jury seems to be still out on the restart. DMOC is having the same issue and I haven't heard from Pianoman or Turd Ferguson (who is not back from vacation yet).
On the plus side I haven't had to restart the server and no one new has complained about problems.

Looks like Spain has missed all the turns so far... not good.

Hmmmm... I would pause or kick it to the AI before the turn roll.

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
I doubt it matters, since I can usually log in without problems, but since you're asking for a report...
Pre-reset I couldn't login, if someone else was already logged in. It just stayed at the connecting to whoever screen. Post-reset, it hasn't happened, but it might just be that I haven't run into anyone on at the same time yet.
For the most part, all is well though.

I know from experience that simultaneous player connections in Civ4 are highly problematic. A few have been fixed by disabling firewalls, or adding specific ports to your allow list.

Re: TG BTS: PitSuc - Signups -> Oct 1
Just so everyone knows, we will continue with the current server as is.
I still haven't heard from Pianoman but I do know Turd Ferguson worked around his problem (by using a different Vista login) and I'm hopeful we can fix up DMOC as well.

I've already sent PMs to get this addressed. Worst case is I turn it over to the AI.
