Interest in a pitboss (dedicated server) game?

We started a dedicated server game a while back which worked well, however we didn't put enough initial time into it to get it rolling.

I'd like to try and get another one of these started. We'd have to put in a good four hours up front with everyone playing online at the same time to get to a point where we can then play 24 hour turns and not be bored.

Is there interest in trying to do this?

I personally can't make the long term commitment over the holidays. I'll be away for a good bit of it.

Hmm, good point. Maybe we should wait until January to start one up.

So if we do start after the holidays, what time is best to try and get four hours of gaming in before we switch to 24-hour turns?

It's after the holidays now. I'd love to get another Civ pitboss game going. Who still has interest in this?

Ideally we would need a good four hours of upfront play time before we roll into 24-hour turns. We could even break that into multiple sessions if we have to. I think we learned from our last attempt that if we don't get far enough into the game quickly, then players lose interest.
