Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
he probably does, do the server test too for good measure.
What size are we looking at? I have played huge with 12 people before... Of course it all depends on how crowded you want the map to be...

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
Btw the game should have been up half an hour ago no? If not there might be some problems with powersaving/summertime for various people for the advanced start...
It might be a problem with summertime no matter if the games go by it or not... Should be specified somewhere, since it isn't up i assume you won't be using the gmt they are actully using in the gmt zone?

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
All right guys. Looks like I posted my final 10 hour update in the server tests topic so hopefully most everyone saw it. In any case, the final roster appears below. I'm running a bit late this morning but the server will be up shortly. With respect to timezones, I'd recommend hitting www.greenwichmeantime.com to verify we are all on the same page. The server should be going up only about 30 min late here.
A final reminder for the Live Session: Saturday, October 20 at 3:00 pm EDT (7:00 pm GMT). 2 hour duration.
For the live session, please be early! I'd encourage everyone to be online and ready to go 15 minutes ahead of time. If you are late we are not waiting for you. I'll be hanging out in Teamspeak (TS2) in the "Civilization IV" channel, on Himachi, and in game about 30 minutes before the start of the live session.

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
Server is up!
Server/game status is available at CivStats. To register your leader, the password is the same as the server password: tgmd6
Don't forget to password protect your nation once you log in.

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
We'll just have to make do as best we can. Hopefully everyone can at least listen even if they can't speak. And worst case, I assume everyone can type via the channel chat.
My bigger concern for Saturday is that we don't get too many "out of sync" errors and that it goes smoothly. The beginning ancient era is so slow it would be very good to get past that as quickly as we can. I'll be double checking with everyone that they are connecting to the server via Hamachi and the 5.134.244.58 address.

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
I see you got registered ok?
CivStats is going to look a bit weird at start here since I didn't bother creating a new game there but just used the test server one I created. You might try refreshing the page just to make sure you are seeing the correct display.

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
No not registered,
I only see 10 names when I want to register at civstats and Brennus is not one of them.
Maybe someone picked the wrong leader?

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
I logged in today and finished my first turn.
I noticed there is a turn limit? why?????
turn limit is 460 if i m right. I prefer playing without turnlimit. Hey, my UN is a panzer tank want to build it 1 day.

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
It's registered by a CivStats account of "dionysusbf". If that's not you then I can unregister them so you can do it. In fact I'll do that right now anyhow since re-registering is easy enough.
As I mentioned earlier, I have yet to see a multiplayer game get anywhere near the default turn limit. But regardless of that it is far too late to be changing game parameters now.

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
why is the game prince difficulty? To slow down rexing and make tech trading less powerfull?

Re: PTBS Warlords: A City Too Far - Signup
I got the impression most of the players in the game are fairly experienced so it seemed like the right thing to do. I also mentioned it in the Game Format topic and nobody said anything. I assumed they were ok with it, didn't see it, or didn't care.

Speaking of tech trading, a reminder to everyone that we are doing tech brokering this game. Only trade techs that you have researched yourself. If you haven't read the game format in a while you might want to re-read the first message in this topic. I'll also be highlighting the key rules tomorrow before we start the live session just to make sure everyone is on the same page.
