Re: PTBS BTS: The Terrible Twos - Signups
I just had the one city, and only a Warrior defending it, no way to rush even one archer, and one other warrior 4 turns away. They appeared one tile away from the city...and then just wandered off. I built up defense as quick as I could, but never saw the lot again. It could very well have been the same stack! I'm a bit fuzzy on the details but I think it got within a couple of tiles of his capital and then went wandering off SW. I don't recall if he actually got into a battle with them at all. In any case, it was REALLY early. At the time I thought for sure he was a goner since he had only his capital.
I did have a worker moving around the city which they seemed to head towards on their first move so I used him as "bait" to lead them away...no idea if that was what worked or not.

The game went down while I was playing my turn. Maybe there was a connection issue, but it is now working again.

ch has asked me to sub for him for about a week ... any objections if I do that while taking the last turn or two before Niklas wipes out America?

We are getting new carpet put in, meaning that I need to move everything out of my room, including the computer. Since it is a big job I want to get things started as soon as I can.

Well the carpet is going in the following week, so my mistake, but I hope that none objects to DV being my partner.

Re: PTBS BTS: The Terrible Twos - Signups
I want to report on an exploit.
One of oyzar's cities were poisoned by enemy infiltrators. For various undisclosable reasons we decided to gift the city to me - and lo, there was no longer any poison. But for various other undisclosable reasons, but including the fact that losing the poison would have been an exploit, I gifted the city back to oyzar. Poison still gone.
This is rather hard to exploit since gifting a city already loses all the food in the bin, and all the other costs that go with it when you aren't teamed, but in this case the city would truly have starved and we definitely gained something by the gifting back and forth. To avoid benefitting from this exploit and avoid a reload we decided to deliberately starve the city as if the poison was still there.
Just so everyone realizes what's up, in case there are more filthy stinkin' spies sneaking around.

Thanks for explaining the situation Niklas and taking measures to deal with it in a fair manner.

To simplify things, should we just say no gifting of cities that have been poisoned? Or perhaps lighten it up a bit to cities that have been poisoned and are suffering a population decline?

Re: PTBS BTS: The Terrible Twos - Signups
I am off on holiday tomorrow so will only get another two turns in before I am away for a week or so. I have started a thread looking for a temporary replacement. But I have queued everything up so unless someone attacks me (in which case its fairer on everyone else if a human coordinates the defence) my powers can just be left to stale the turns. Usually the timer goes most of the 24 hours anyway so impact will be minimal.
I'll send my login details to Bernout in case no one comes forward until after I leave.
