Ron was unable to play due to me and Niklas still playing(and he wouldn't be back before the timer ran out) as such we pause the game after we are done so he get to do his turn at a later time.

When you log in to the game unpause it to play(the pause button beside print screen on the keyboard), then pause it after you are done playing(same button) so Ron get time to play his turn.

    Hey, you Scandinavian Warmongers!

I played the normal part of my turn before you, but I moved my units around after you, so I guess from now on, I'll play after you?!?
(That way, Ron and I can also try to play together, as well)

And it would be very nice if you could give me ~2 hours before midnight to play my turn

We're fine with you playing after us, especially since it means you can play together. The only reason we logged in when we did was that we failed to play before you (it was our intention), and couldn't wait for ron any longer.

How come the game was paused again? Hoplo is on vacation now, so we should let it roll again, right?

Us launching killed the server. I've seen it before. I don't think anyone could stop the ship before it landed anyways, but sucks that it isn't really possible to get all the way to space in pitboss...

I didn't realize that. So is the game over or is there a way to keep going until the official end?

I doesn't seem like there is a way to actually win via space, at least according to oyzar. I guess we could reload and not launch, and play pretend for 12 turns until our ship would have reached AC. Not sure that's worth the while though, no one will be able to stop us now anyway, and it wouldn't be any less anticlimatic to play pretend that the ship reaches its destination in 12 turns. I guess it's up to the other players though, if anyone feels they have a fighting chance to stop our ship then I can continue to play (pretend)...

I like the pretend win idea. Whats 12 more turns anyway?

Or at least an attempt at a reload to see what happens.

Re: PTBS BTS: The Terrible Twos - Signups

    Just found this on cfc

    ------
If anyone else encounters this problem: the game of the 'launching' player will not crash, but simply lose connection. So (s)he can then save the game and send that savegame to the host. When the host loads that savegame the game continues with the space ship launched. Make sure not to launch at the beginning of the turn, but after you've been through the city building phase.
    ----

So if I'm reading this correctly, reload the turn, oyz or whoever launches, sends the recovery file from his personal machine to the host, who then loads that file instead of the one on the server. (If whoever launched still has the save (hasn't played any other turns), could possibly skip the reload)

Edit:looks like he needs to manually save? May not be possible in pitboss.

You can definitely manually save inside a pitboss at any time, just like a regular single player game. I do it all the time these days, mainly to protect games in case the host leaves (which happened not so long ago in one of my games).

Alright! Then we're on again - I can fix the launch and save as soon as Bernout can get the server up.

I can confirm that the game didn't crash when we launched, we just lost the connection as written in that note.

This has been the case for along time that they were going to win.

We have 12 turns. Someone could build the UN and vote you winner. They could have skipped a casing and it will crash. Or the horse might learn to sing.

Edit:Besides, I'd just like to see a game actually have a winner for once, instead of just a "well, we can't catch you, we give up" from all the players.

The server did go down did it not? Or was that due to something unrelated?

I'll get the server back up tonight and we can give it a go.

If I'm reading that note right, yes, it went down.

Should go something like this. Nik launches. Server crashes. Nik then saves manually from his end, sends Bernout the save, who loads that save. Server is now up post-launch and game should continue.
