Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
I'm trying to help Ricardo connect to the game, as Morgan is away on vacation and he's meant to be subbing for the next 2 weeks...
However, he's not able to connect. He gets past the 'choose leader' screen but then the game aborts the connection with error:
"The save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed."

I've verified the Ricardo is running V3.19 with the NoScore mod correctly installed, and we've even verified that he is able to connect to another pitboss game running V3.19 and the same NoScore mod. So the problem only seems to happen when trying to connect to the FoW host.
Bernout - any ideas? Could you maybe try restarting the pitboss app / pitboss server to see if that helps? Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Munro

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
Thanks Bernout.
Actually, don't worry about restarting the server. I'm working with Ricardo on this right now and we've managed to reproduce the problem on my pitboss server, using a new game that was started with the 'lock modified assets' option. (My first test with Ricardo didn't have this option checked).
Looks like it might be something to do with the BlueMarble and / or BUG mod that he has installed.. trying to reproduce it on my machine now.
Edit: we've figured it out. Ricardo had an extra subdirectory, i.e. Mods\NoScore\NoScore\ ... Removing the extra level of subfolder fixed the problem.Last edited by Munro; 09-26-2009 at 03:40 PM.

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
I'd also suggest having him clear his customassets folder (under ~mydocs\mygames\bts)
Shouldn't matter, since the other game worked, but worth a try.

Re: Fog of War --- Server Problems
Seems odd ... if this was the problem, how did he successfully connect to another game running the no score mod? Double subdirectory would mean that the mod was not loading (mod list in "load a mod" points to a folder only containing the extra subdirectory, which won't load the mod ...) as a source of the error, right?
Unless he had a a shortcut pointing at the correct subdirectory, and so sometimes using shortcut it worked, and sometimes loading in menu (or maybe a second, wrong shortcut?) did not ???

Lost connection when I was logged in the game (1625 AD). Server probably down?
