Re: BFCL COH League
Glad to see there is some interest here!
To respond to Evo's Lol... er I mean question, as you read in the portal announcement the tournament championship will actually face off the winner of BFCL's mini-lan and the winner of the online tournament. Since there is limited spaces in the lan-side, for parity's sake it makes sense to limit the number of online teams competing. Having the winner of an 8 team tournament play the winner of a 32 team tournament for the crown doesn't exactly make sense does it?
Still, even though this is just a launch tournament, if the interest is strong enough, the decision to expand the slots could be made then. As Lucky stated, BFCL does not whore itself all over the web just to draw a big number of teams. We take the teams we allow to compete in our league pretty seriously. As long as things are done right, and with Fun first and foremost in mind, everything else takes care of itself.
Stay up on the forums and if you have quesitons, just ask! I'm not a CoH player myself so you'll probably find better answers at BFCL than from me. Good Luck to any teams that choose to compete.

Re: BFCL COH League
Ok, didn't realize it was such a stupid question when I was asking it because there was very little information on the tournament on the BFCL website.

Re: BFCL COH League
And if you knew Rommel, you would know that he reached field marshall rank. Not sure entirely on how the ranks work, but it is higher than a regular general, I'm sure.
And just so you know, Rommel wasn't just about Armoured Warfare, he was a big proponent of Combined-Arms.playing off the TG server feels like we're playing 2142 on easy mode~Fehmart

Re: BFCL COH League
Sigh
Certainly, just like a major-general is of a higher rank then a brigadier general, but both are generals the same is for field-marshal. The actual title was "Generalfeldmarschall" Erwin Rommel, if you would have known that little tidbit, you might not have made this post I bet.
And by the way only an idiot or the typical Battlefield player thinks tanks unsupported are all you need. Thanks for the explanation though, after spending 6 and a half years in the 2nd cav, I needed a lesson on armored warfare from a video-game player.

Re: BFCL COH League
Actually, I had forgotten the General part of the title.
And as for the explanation, which was obviously in-depth and intended to educate someone who clearly doesn't share my obvious grasp of military strategy, you're welcome.
P.S. If you can't smell the sarcasm that is wafting up from this post, I'm very sorry. And just as I made assumptions that were proven incorrect, you don't need assume either. You were in the 2nd Cav. I didn't know that. And I'm curious, at what point in time was I personally attacking you or critizing you for some supposed lack of knowledge about warfare? Thanks though, one more rebuke I can pile up with the rest I get.playing off the TG server feels like we're playing 2142 on easy mode~Fehmart

Re: BFCL COH League
I didn't take your question as stupid Evo. And yes, beyond the initial announcement, there hasn't been many details posted yet. To my knowledge, the tournament rules and ladder script are still being finalized. It was bad form of me to respond to incredulity with incredulity. I was only trying to explain the primary reasoning behind such a small tournament. BFCL as a league is pretty small, and though we have tremendous infrastructure and technical resources, we're thin on human resources. A small launch tournament for a game we don't even support yet also makes sense given these circumstances.
I'm certain that if the response is good, a full swing CoH ladder will be developed.

Re: BFCL COH League
I wonder if I could participate if I turn all my settings down. I thought I had, but I'll see if they can go any lower. Maybe then I can get good enough performance to participate.
