Re: The "Post Your Playbacks" Thread
OPs should mostly be used on high fuel points, and only on high munitions points if you have excess manpower (generally mid-late game). In semois you should ALWAYS OP your close medium fuel, and in angoville it can help if you feel its the only way to keep up with your enemy or get fuel quickly in case you were blocked off from it early. Also good for denying the enemy the fuel in angoville. If your enemy builds an OP on the high fuel point, you should immediately make a flame pioneer and either destroy it or cut it off (or both).
Bunkers are very cheap and very worth it if used right. If i start as axis on the south in angoville, i cap the left side. I then put a bunker with an MG right next to the VP point. This covers the high fuel point AND the strategic point, the two most important points on the left side. This allows you to shift the rest of your army, at least in the early game, to the right side. If they send enough to the left to take away munitions, it isnt too big a deal because there are less of their units defending their all important fuel. |

Re: The "Post Your Playbacks" Thread
Bunkers can be really useful when you upgrade them with the repair station ability. It rules late game to be able to retreat your tanks to your bunker and have the little men repair them automatically w/o having to micro your Pioneers around or worry about them getting shot.

Re: The "Post Your Playbacks" Thread
Heres a .5 replay with me using defensive. Its about a 30 minute game. I started off badly, especially in my MG positioning, but then the halftrack came out and that was the beginning of the end for my opponent. Im still getting used to how much things cost, how many of each i need, and how quickly to get to T4. The major thing i missed in this game were building bunkers, and i think that was partly due to how many units i lost in the beginning. I also need to work on my macro, because near the end i had a lot of idle units.

Heres a replay as me on axis side on beux lowlands, the new 2p map. I did a great job of cuting him off, and denying him points.

Re: The "Post Your Playbacks" Thread
Oh man this was a crazy ass match. I went with my usual T2-T4 defensive strategy. The combined arms worked wonders, and the 88 absolutly tore it up. TONS of allied tanks made it difficult though.
Here is the replay on GR.org: http://www.gamereplays.org/community...owtopic=200933 And for those without an account: http://www.uploading.com/files/RJEXS...05_58.rec.html |

Re: The "Post Your Playbacks" Thread
very nice. I got to say those calliopes are still annoying as hell. I like the tank rush he did to take it out. But your bait and kill tactics were awesome. You always have the best replays lol.

Re: The "Post Your Playbacks" Thread
I came SO close to beating Golradaer. IMO he and nystrom are the two best allied players, at least from what i can tell by watching their replays. To see my thoughts on the match, you can just go to the GR link below.

Pretty much all axis players, at least in 1 vs 1, are having a very diffiicult time with the new patch. At first it seemed like everything was balanced, but allied players quickly learned to make every single change help them. Im trying out a new strat to counter it and attached some replays with it in the thread linked to above. |

My mortar in this round absolutely tore everything up. Everytime he got into a building, my mortar was within range and made him pay for it. His sniper was a real nuisance and i probably should have built one myself instead of all the bikes, but oh well. The ending is hilarious too. He sends a croc in and no matter where he goes, there is some form of AT that hits him. |
