Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

I have to think about this. I am not a fan of COH team games. Raxx+WSC might as well be a GG.

A-men, in 3v3 it's not so bad on axis because 1 player can just work for T4 but in 2v2's if you loose that first fight it's GG as axis.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

An update on my availability - I have to pick my fiancee up from the airport at some point during the day on Sunday. I'll know more once she books her flight next week, but it should be OK as long as we can schedule the matches far enough in advance. I'll definitely be available to get my matches in on Sunday though.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

It looks like we will have at least enough for two 3v3 matches (plus one). I'm hoping for a couple more players. I'll post the roster and map late Sunday afternoon. Looking forward to making this even happen.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

Thanks to everyone who signed up. With 13 people signed up, I decided to schedule two 3v3 matches. Gabriel will be on standby in case we have someone cancel since he was the last to sign up. We’ll play 2 rounds with the following map and teams. We didn’t get as many team leaders as I would’ve hoped. The TG veteran players are for all intents and purposes are the team leaders.

Map: Monterme.

Match #1
Axis Team
Morganan-Veteran
Icky-Experienced
Sticky Jeans- Rookie

-Vs-
Allies Team
Kaskinquad (RGM-79N_GM_Custom)-Veteran
Evo-Experienced
Ainselie-Rookie

Match #2
Axis Team
Bobik-Veteran
IMI50AE-Experienced
Vegabond-Experienced/Rookie (?)

-Vs-

Allies Team
Tempus-Experienced
NorCalRoach-Experienced
Humanshield- Rookie

This is the first event for CoH. Let’s have some fun by working with your team between now and Game Day to discuss strategies and overall tactics. Remember Game Day is Sunday, September 23rd at 11 a.m. Pacific and 2 p.m. Eastern. Please notify us if you can’t make it in advance. We’ll set roll call 30 minutes prior to game time. Good luck everyone.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

Will each team play both sides to determine the winner of the match? Like in CAL?

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

I put everyone in their preferred faction. I figured we just play 2 rounds of the same faction rather than switch given other player's preferences.

Looks good, see you guys on sunday!

One question tough. We're not playing any lame bridge/chokepoint maps right?

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

I thought my preferred faction was kinda a little bit towards Allies? Oh well, I don't think it will matter anyway. Dude, I'm so going to suck because I haven't played in so long. And I prefer Allies anyway, not sure why. And of course there's the fact that pretty much the entire opposing team knows my strategies, so yeah, that's wonderful. Oh well, I suppose getting my ass handed to me in CoH will just complete the wonderful 2 weeks I've been having so far, where Murphy has been royally screwing me nonstop.

Monterme is blend of choke points and open areas. The choke points are primarily created by narrow streets and crumbled buildings. The bridges aren't as big a factor as they are in Lyon. The map does require some thought since one player from your three man squad will be separated by the bridges. How this plays out will be up to you.

You caught my mistake. I originally intended to switch with you and be on Bobik's team instead since you wanted to be Allies. I posted the roster and realized my mistake late today. I'd be happy to switch if you want to play Allies, but let me know soon. I'll be on TS tonight after 9 p.m. Pacific time. Keep in mind though that I'm playing oppsite from you if only for the simple purpose of destroying what ever little faith you have in yourself as a genuine tank whore. lol...let the taunting begin.

By the way, not to scare my teamates, but I'm pretty rusty myself. I decided to get a little practice in last night and lost 3 of my four single player matches. So IMI50 has a good chance of making me eat my words.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage

The map is fine, I wouldn't have minded hill or hedgerow's as well. They all would have been solid choices.
