Thanks to those who showed up. It was a fun time.
Boo to those who didn't.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
Replay from the improvised 3v3 match. http://www.uploading.com/en/files/1N...HERME.rec.html
Very interesting and fun match. I can't really give an AAR for it other then what occurred down on the southern part of the map as I had my hands full. All I can say is yay for assault grenades. I've played so much OF lately I was used to getting AG's right after the StuH. Oh Tempus, I was incorrect, I only made 1 sniper that match not 2. Our main ideas were to secure our strategic point that cut us off from all resources, and try and take theirs or double-team Tempus (the plan actually was dbl whomever was on the bottom which worked out to be him.) This match was just another proof of the old dictum that "no force survives battle without a plan, but no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy". The only thing we actually pre-arranged that worked out how we planned was 2 guys going blitz, 1 terror. I dealt with a plethora of Tempus' snipers and for some reason thought I was playing the OF beta for a minute and made a nebelwerfer (which currently are still quite worthless in vanilla CoH.).
To me, this match proved that team games are almost impossible to create true "balance". 4 tigers and a tiger ace are simply to much for the allies to handle mid to late game.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
My thanks to everyone who participated as well. Particularly Tempus who helped set it up. My team was Allies and included Tempus and Humanshield. We played against IMI-50, Morganan, and Bobik. Great round! Lasted for 45 mins. I was exhuasted after the match was completed. I think the replay can show our good advances and big mistakes (courtesy of me with my infantry flying around like a flock of birds on a windy day). I'm ready to do it again.

I saw this thread and I said "oh ya, that's coming up soon, isn't it?"
Unfortunately, I was away from home all day, and there was nothing I could have done to change that.Peace through fear... since 1947!

Do you guys want to try to play again this Sunday? It'd be cool to make that a regular CoH day...

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
Sunday sounds good for CoH night, but until I get OF I won't be online. There is no way I'm going to download that big-ass patch and then a small one when I can get OF and only patch the small one.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
I may be able to make it around 5 p.m. It's been a hectic week. I'm surprised your fiance is letting you have a regular day Evo! lol. I'm still getting a feel for OF. It's not as bad as I made it out to be. It's like going off to college, you know the change is inherently good, but it's a little scary at first. I wouldn't mind learnin' the ropes with other OF noobies so let's try and make it happen.

Later in the day would be better for me tomorrow as well. I don't get to play vids a lot during the week, so she has to give me time somewhere for it!

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
I'll probably be around at 8 or 9 tonight eastern time. I want to play against some of the new factions. Surprisingly, I've played about a dozen games since OF was released and have only been matched against one of the new factions ONCE, and the guy dropped in the first minute of the game. Also, none of the games have counted toward my stats, which I think is a bug that's affecting everyone right now.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
I've got my honey-do list today. Hoping to break free later this afternoon to catch you guys on. More than likely 7-9p.m. pacific time. I've been playing single player campaigns to learn the different units. I'm reallllly liking the game more and more. So far I've played through the 3rd map with the Panzer Elite and the 2nd map with the Royal forces. The british tanks and commandos are something to be reckoned with.
Edit: As usual, I probably popped on too late for you east coasters. I didn't see anyone in channel. We'll have to try and schedule another time to meet up. The good thing is that it'll give me some more time to continue learning the new units before we get meet up again. I'll be popping on and off the Teamspeak (TS) channel later this week. As usual, feel free to contact me if you see me in the TS 33rd channel and not CoH channel.Last edited by NorCalRoach; 09-30-2007 at 09:38 PM.
