Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
Sorry about last night, IMI, I was trying to get OF working properly. When I finally did, all I had the energy to do was play a campaign mission.
The British are proving damn hard for me to learn. Their units are so frigging slow without a LT. And I still am trying to figure out how they impart bonuses... do they have to be linked to squads, or simply in the same sector? Because my squads still sneak around when I think they should be running normally. I'm also having a hell of a time trying to figure out their armor."No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.
He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
Rush for Stuart's. Use a BO something along these lines...
LT
Inf
Mortar pit
Inf
Bren
Move HQ to fuel
T2
Capt.
Stuart
Sapper
Add in trenches appropriately but whatever you do don't sit passively and try and defend a small area. Put the LT inside the Bren early on so the Bren can cap points. Make sure you have 85 munitions when your Stuart comes out so you can upgrade for larger view distance and have a canister round if you need it. You can adjust when you move the hq truck based on how much pressure you are under. The less pressure, the earlier you can move it. As soon as you set it up on a fuel you want to upgrade for T2 and set that truck on a munitions point.
If I choose/need to go T3 I get a 17 lber and possible a bofors if I can find good locations for them as I want my sappers to be upgraded for repair as over-repair owns. (that's really map dependent imo) As for the T3 I rarely make the Cromwell and instead make the command tank then pure firefly's. If I'm using a Cromwell it's from the royal Eng doctrine (which I usually mix with T3). Engineers or commando's are the 2 doctrines to go with in most cases, as they have some serious punch.

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
Ok, I guess I need to keep learning how to use them. The Infantry Section just seems outmatched by everything, and the Stuart seems basically worthless against everything but light vehicles, unless you spend munis on a canister shot.
And based on some of the replays and shoutcasts I'm watching, is it bad to link the LT to your squads?"No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.
He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

Re: Company of Heroes Scrimmage
The canister shot is exactly why you get the Stuart and it's ok to link the LT to your squads, but keep him secure and don't let him get focus-fired
