  • EA/DICE Present: Medal of Honor

Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators.

Over 2 million Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines wear the uniform. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence.

The new Medal of Honor is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from this elite community. Players will step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan.

There is a new enemy. There is a new war. There is a new warrior. He is Tier 1.

It has been three years in the making, and now it is only days away. The newest chapter in the Medal Of Honor series is set to release at midnight on Tuesday October 12th.

This new installment takes us out of war torn Europe and puts us right in the middle of the current conflict in the Middle East. The single player campaign is set around 3 different groups of Military forces. Kick in doors as a rifleman in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Patrol the Area of Operations as a gunner for an Apache Gunship. And go behind the lines as an Elite Special Forces "Operator".

The multiplayer has been revamped and built with tactics and teamwork as the driving factor. On release, we will get 8 maps and 6 game modes to test our skills against others from around the world.

    Clean Sweep
The all new Clean Sweep game mode.
Elimination style gameplay with no respawns and
    improved spotting to discourage camping.

    Combat Mission
Play Combat Mission, a story driven mode that
follows coalition soldiers as they try to clear a
    chain of objectives.

    Hot Zone
The all new Hot Zone game mode. King of the Hill-style
gameplay where you have to eliminate all enemies in
the central map area to gain score.

    Objective Raid
Play Objective Raid, a mode where coalition defend two
    objectives against insurgent saboteurs.

    Sector Control
Play Sector Control, a Domination type game mode where
players fight to secure and hold sectors, represented by flags,
    for score.

    Team Assault
Play Team Assault, a Team Death Match like game where the
sides fight to reach a score to win.

Tactical Gamer has joined the fight with two dedicated Medal Of Honor servers that will go live when the game does. The servers will feature harder settings, more tactical teamwork, and as always a dedicated group of community members to Admin the server.

We invite everyone to join the fight October 12th. Also, drop by the Medal of Honor Forum to stay informed on everything going on with the game here at TG.

Yeah, looking forward to getting a copy and clearing some objectives with the community, the Open Beta was a blast with Dredge, LPBronco, PaintScratcher, Xeil and more. Looking forward to TG specific tweaking and adaptations to game-play.

      See you in the field!

I just looked at the game trailer -- much disappointment.

I am not interested in a game that has a CONSTANT stream of hit and award messages playing in the center of the screen (seems like a childish feature, and ruins the visual experience completely).

Too bad. Another game designed for kids ("hey, look at how many hits/kills/points I got"), but not with adults sufficiently in mind.

Not about to blow over $60 on this until I see that the visual field is cleaned up.

Game designers must stop filling the visual field with garbage.

I wish the TGers good luck in making MoH successful at Tactical Gamer, but I don't see myself buying this game at all.

I hope you are right -- and I wish the best for all TGers that get into this title. No point in dissing other players favorite flavours...

But from a virtual videography point of view (an admitedly rather narrow point of view), the apparently constant stream of kill and award messages dead center in the screen completely ruins the aesthetics of the game and makes it fairly useless for machinima projects.

Nonetheless, I found myself pawing the title in my local gaming store. Also took a long look at the Black Ops title (both $70 CND !!). I have been unable to play these high end graphics games for a few years, so they are all of interest to me on one level or another.

But I did walk out of the store with a $20 copy of Bioshock, and noted that Bioshock 2 is out and only $20. Not quite the type of game that TG is about, but I'll probably write a review of the two in a few weeks.
