Tactical Gamer proudly presents our round-robin review of NaturalPoint's TrackIR 5. Allowing superior situational awareness over a plain mouse and keyboard setup TrackIR 5 becomes essential to flight simulators and tactical first-person shooters.

This is a round-robin review with contributed content from Wicks, Dredge, Warlab, and myself (Acreo Aeneas). We have tried to be as thorough and complete in our review as possible, but given time constraints and the sheer number of games that support the TrackIR 5, we were only able to cover the use of the TrackIR 5 in a few select titles. ...

Red Orchestra 2:Heroes of Stalingrad is Tripwire Interactive's follow up to the cult classic Red Orchestra. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, RO2 takes us to the Battle of Stalingrad and the back and forth conflict between the Soviet Union and Third Reich. The game, while supporting a single player mode, is very much intended as a multiplayer experience. With that in mind, this article will focus on the multiplayer mode. If, however you are new to RO2, I would suggest at least trying the singleplayer as it does give a good introduction to the game and it's features. ...

The Second definition of Immersion is stated simply as, "Deep mental involvement." But what does this mean to us as gamers? To me it means that developers have to push the envelope in ever increasing ways to "Immerse" us in their games. To bring their worlds to life, make us care about them and make us feel like we are truly involved in something grand. In no other game has this principle been re-defined and shown in spades, then in Eve Online. That's what we're here today to talk about, one of the largest expansions to the world's leading space MMO and largest online universe. Lets get started shall we? ...

Allowing truly "massive" game-play with all manor of tanks, aircraft and infantry combat, you the player took on the roll of a foot soldier in one of three empires; The Terran Republic, The New Conglomerate, or the Vanu Sovereignty. Ever dreamed of driving a 50 ton hunk of metal and slinging explosive rounds at your enemies? Ever had the desire to watch other gamers cringe as you charge at them, knocking down trees and any other obstacles in your path?Do you love vehicle warfare? Then World of Tanks is for YOU!

World of Tanks is an immersive multiplayer tank simulator made by WarGaming that takes a stab at an often overlooked aspect of World War II: the tank battles. All of the tanks and maps in the game are era-specific to the 1940s and early 1950s. Currently there are tanks from three of the major players in the conflict: Germany, Russia and the United States. Plans to add in tanks from both France and Japan have been slated for future patches. Put simply: the game has everything you’d want out of a free-to-play title. More than 15 maps, over 50 different tanks, and the ability to play in either first or third person modes give the game an incredible diversity.

That diversity is also constantly increasing. World of Tanks has an incredibly dedicated development team who, with the latest patch to version 0.6.4, have made lots of changes to game mechanics, balance, and new maps have been added, as well as introducing Clan Wars. Plans are in the works for 30+ new tanks in the existing three nation’s tech trees over the next few months as well!
