Wait! Wait! Section posted how Captains will be decided, and then later in the same thread says he'll get back to us on how Captains are decided???

I don't know man, I don't remember him saying how captains would be decided. I'll go check though.

actually it was mentioned earlier that the captains should try and pick people who posted first and then, if no reply, move on down the signup thread...

Yeah, I saw that mentioned too, but I don't see the logic in doing so when you can choose just like with captains matches.

Well, probably to preserve some sort of order in the team selections, but again, what do I know?

The thing of choosing those who signed up first is to give those people sort of a privilege since they were the first ones to want to play. wow that sounds confusing.

Well, the thing that happened last scrim we had, the people who had volunteered first weren't getting chosen. It turned out that they were sent PM's, they were just never responded to.

ya exactly. If you signed up first you have a better chance of getting chosen but if you do not reply to the captin's PM then your out of luck. This is to try to make everything fair.

So, I signed up to play and something has come up and I might not be consistently available to play at the designated time slot. If anything, I'd probably be absent more than present, but I can't be positive. Does that mean my team better have a reliable sub, or should I just take my name out of the hat so I'm not holding everybody up?

Can I be a mascot instead... running around spraying "go team" on every wall or something?

Curious when we'll have the approved maps list to be able to practice and plan strats.

Hmm...this might be an option... you will have one week with your team to devise a strat...as the maps will be released in one week increments.

To be fair, this isn't precisely true. The post to which you are referring was not by an admin for someone who is running the tournament. Just throwing it out there.
