Re: A Little Added Pinch Of Realism.
Oh wow, I didn't even realize this was in the wrong forum when I made my last post.

Re: A Little Added Pinch Of Realism.
I played a game a while ago... I forget which (not a HL/HL2 mod though)... and when you were flashed you were of course blind, but when you ran around, you also staggered. So, even though you knew where the nearest corner was and how to get there, you still had some difficulty because maybe you didn't move as far back as you thought, etc.
It'd almost like be implementing the "drugged" idea except it wouldn't change the direction in which you moved (back always moves you backwards) but how far in that direction you moved. It really made it interesting. Problem is, it'd be difficult to implement because it seems like different people/computers feel the effects of blindness longer than others in CSS. I cant count how many times I'm watching somebody's screen while I'm dead and they get flashed and are recovered on their end a good 5 seconds before I am on my end. Same with people standing right next to me when we're alive. If I'm within a block of a flash, I'm blind for 10 minutes, while people right next to me hardly even notice the flash. |

Re: A Little Added Pinch Of Realism.
I think when you are spectating the flash is different all the time. There have been times when I've been able to see almost immediately but the person I'm spectating obviously can't see a thing...maybe not though. IDK
