Re: Hi..how does this compare to BF2.......

They both have VoIP. That's the extent of it.

In all seriousness, there's not much in common between the two. CS is about acheiving specific objectives -- either plant a bomb (or defend that action), or rescue hostage (or defend that action). The pace is slower. There's no respawn -- when you die, you are dead for the remainder of the round. There are no vehicles. There are headshots, which means one-shot kills. The maps are much smaller.

I'd say give it a try and see for yourself. It's still played TG style, which means it should be enjoyable. But it is nothing at all like BF2.

It's more Like Call of duty if you've played that. It could even be compared to unreal tournament or quake games.

Re: Hi..how does this compare to BF2.......

We don't run 1.6. We run Counter-Strike: Source. This version will update itself through the steam client.

1.6 is updated to source through a patch? i thought it was a separate game you had to buy, 1.6 runs the HL1 engine, source runs the HL2 engine

He wasn't saying that you update 1.6 to get source, he was saying that source will update itself through the steam client after you buy it

or at least i think thats what he said...

Re: Hi..how does this compare to BF2.......

Yep you have to buy them. B is the default buy menu button. Then hit the corresponding numbers to the weapon/item you want. Ammo is filled for free now so you dont need to buy it anymore.

pro tip: When a CT on a DE_ map... dont forget to buy your defuse kit!!

also, when your in the options menu, setting up your keys. Be sure and hit advanced then check the one that says "enable developer console"... this will help speed up answers to your future questions

Pro tip: enable fastswitch, it helps tons in the midst of battle.
To do so you have to go to the advanced options in the key's and enable it!

Re: Hi..how does this compare to BF2.......

Hahaha I hate fast switch I can't stand it if im using my pistal then I run over a gun and pick it up and it switches to it while i'm in the mid of shooting my pistal, chances are it will be empty as well, useless mode.

Pro tip: buy armor!
