As you can see from this picture from Google the cathedral has a cruciform ground plan, to the east (or right) of the cathedral is the bank. Across from them a park, and behind the bank is a parking lot.

i thought about making a map just for you.. its a hallway...... nothing in it..no boxes or things to hide behind.. and the hosties are in the very back of the hallway, and scouts cost $1 and the limit is infinite... would you play my map?

NO... the most important thing for this map is CAMERAS this is a bank and you know they have cameras but only for t's... hmm on second thought maybe for both t's and ct's to were t's can see outside and since with all the technology that swat has they will be able to see inside the bank and stuff. I dont know what do you guys think about this?

Re: I AM MAKING A MAP - with your input.

Definately a possibility. I like the idea of Ts seeing the entrences with security cameras. I dont know about the swat though. I think the Cts should be able to possibly cut the lights out for a couple seconds or turn some lights off in areas.

In your local banks, are there large windows in the lobby? Let me kno, im trying to figure out the window situation, will really control sniper coverage of inside. The building is going to be 7 stories tall like the one in my town. What do you think?

Do you know how hard it is for cameras in CSS maps, I wouldn't waste my time, sure one might be ok but to spend the time on more than one of those shoddy cameras is a waste, the bad thing about them is the lag between the viewer and what hes viewing, making them worthless.

Really? They arent too difficult to make form my experience, just a few properties with a couple entities. I was on assault_tg the other day and was looking through the camera while a teammate threw a nade so i heard 'fire in the hole', right as I heard that I see his grenade soaring through the air on the camera. I didnt think there was that much lag on it, Ill pay more attention next time. However, it would be cool to have cameras on the map, but anything like that is just an afterthought anyways, those are the bells and whistles. Right now im just trying to get layout down. So who knows what will happen at those later stages of making this. Im going to make the face of the bank today, might have to have a private screening in a week or so on the bank itself (i should be done with a basic layout in hammer by then.)

Re: I AM MAKING A MAP - with your input.

what about vents?? and an underground tunnel?? elevators?? i think that if you take your time one this map i think that it would be a great map for a tourney or something i like a map with lots of different entrances. i also agree that it would be a great idea to be able to "cut power" of a limited time but have have it where it is a great distance so that it requires one person or two people being far behind hosties. one more thought, what about turning this into a vip map with the bank manager being the vip?? just a thought

Re: I AM MAKING A MAP - with your input.

Well one bank in my area is full of windows from top to bottom. I think maybe you could put in alarms or something for when the ct's breach a certain area it will give the t's a heads up just to make it a bit hard on ct's cause I like a challenge

umm, i forget the exact name, cs_industry? it has a camera and from spectating it was real time, no lag.

Cameras would be professional, being able to shoot them out would be more so. Having lights with switches would be too, and be able to shoot them. (thus making Nightvision a factor and for who might have it and what positions they may take up to be effective)

Yeah the time takes place at night right 9pm you said. Night vision would help.

Re: I AM MAKING A MAP - with your input.

The idea of the power being able to be cut out is great and every bank has some back up emergency lights that would then turn on(or at least a bank this nice).

Underground tunnels? this map is going to take place in FL, you cant dig 4 feet without hitting the wwatertable so tunnels are out of the question. And I dont understand some tunnels in maps, and I want this to be realistic.

Vent system - definately. Most buildings that are more than a couple stories have a large air conditioner on the roof with large ducts that go down through the building. This building is roughly 7 stories tall. The 1st and 2nd floor are actually one, or so to say the bottom floor is about 24 feet tall.

Re: I AM MAKING A MAP - with your input.

I'm sorry, but the power cut idea is terrible unless you make it a randomized option.

If the offensive team can choose to cut the power they're going to do it every single time, in which case the map is just going to be a dark map. This is bad.

If you can set up a scripted randomized trigger to only make the OPTION available randomly the ct's/t's will not know when the power is going to be able to be cut and it will still have the element of surprise.

Otherwise it'll be expected and predictable.
