ohh man. i'm sure he regretted messaging me in the end :P

i think i may have the convo i had with the person saved somewhere- if i do then i will post it for your enjoyment :P

But seriously guys... c'mon... Never believe any offers you get through steam messages! You should always receive an e-mail when you are getting a free game or something. If you see a free game, then take the 30 secs to check your e-mail and verify the validity of the gift. Plus steam opens a special window when someone gifts you a game.

oh and if you clicked on the link, dont worry your account is safe. However, if you attempted lo login, then you should worry. Always remember to check the URL for links from steam. It is obvious when they are fake URL's.

Sounds like some of you noobs need some personal security, I ran into something called zone alarm awhile ago and it had an option to save your personal information like credit cards/passwords/email(This ones not a scam) and it will notify you if your information gets sent over the web. It might be something you boys need.
    - It also has firefox/ie implementation to warn you if a certain site is a risky one or legit one.
