Re: 45 Second Buy times

I'd like to add something...while the 45 second wait time is ticking please stop making noise and listen to the person who's responsibility it is to come up with a plan that round.

Also, if the 45 seconds expires while the planning is still going on don't start running around and jumping on top of people's heads and knifing things, shooting for no reason etc.

It would be nice if we acted similarly to how in some sports (ie. hockey, aka the greatest sport known to mankind) all the players to kneel down while they are listening to the coach. (or at least were respectful, attentive and quiet)

Yes, sometimes it gets distracting with all of that nonsense going on.

Kneel it is.

Personally, I feel if there are more than 3 people on a team, then a 45-second buy time is certainly not enough. Only with two people is there much of a limitation on how complex a plan can be - one person dies, there is one left. That person must improvise, and the objective rests on his shoulders. With three people, there is still two living limbs of the team if the first dies. (45 seconds when you are alone is obnoxious, too. That's usually my snack time or something. I can plan instantly, but it is communication that requires the freeze time).

I would like to see the freezetime moved to 45 seconds, unless there are only one/two people per team. If there are more than four, then I would love at least 60 seconds. I find it is not realistic to have a plan thoroughly thought through and planned in that amount of time (assigning firesquads, locations, advance times, firearms/grenades, etc). Ideally, as well, I would like to see the round time extended to eight or nine minutes, or perhaps even ten. This would allow the PCS-focused team that extra time to plan comfortably if the freezetime runs out too soon.

Only issue - small teams, and the defensive team. There is only so much to organize if you are defending a location, while the offensive team could spend several minutes just planning, not executing.

Re: 45 Second Buy times

The only down side of this that I can think of is that the length of time spent on each map is going to increase in some cases an extra 10 to 15 minutes. So lets say the average gamer plays for 2 hours he may now only see 2 maps a night. Honestly it seems some maps take forever as it is. I currently may only see 3 maps each time I play which makes it very difficult to learn the new maps as they are added frequently and in bulk.

I would humbly propose lowering the play time for each map, or lowering the rounds needed to win from 9 to 7.

I long for the days when I could play games for 6 hours straight.

I am ALL FOR the idea of longer offense freeze times.

Re: 45 Second Buy times

I'll ridicule GITS for liking hockey when I have the time

I can up the freezetime to 20 minutes, but it won't deal with the fundamental problem : Most of the people playing on our server don't care. I see people wearing |TG| tags who just want to run off and pad their stats. I can sit on a team of TG'ers with a 70 second freeze time and still be asking what the plan is.

If you don't want to play PCS the way we (the admins) tell you it is, please go away.
