I am going to add something here.. After the 1st match tonight, I discovered a slight limitation of our scoring system.. The problem is that we were saying that if the teams split, the winner is the team with the most rounds won. However, if one team dominates the first half of the match, the match might effectively be over after just a couple of rounds in the second half..
So, the scoring system will be changed as follows. If a team wins both sides of the map (as CTs and as Ts), that team gets 3 points and the loser gets 0. If the teams split the sides, then the team with the most rounds won gets 2 points and the loser 1. This will give teams a reason to stay competitive even after they've lost the total round battle. Unfortunately, I discovered this too late tonight, and after Team F dominated the 1st half, and then won 2 rounds in the 2nd, Team E had no reason to continue. They played anyway (although I can imagine half-heartedly), and were losing when something strange happened to the server that I'll talk to Wyz about. So, giving them the benefit of the doubt, we'll call it a split, with F winning on total rounds. So, after the first match, Team E has 1 point, and Team F has 2. |
