Re: Final Tourney Info
Sounds like a good way to keep score while keeping teams in the game till the end.

Re: Final Tourney Info
yep great match guys! If i may add in that, momentum is a big part of the matches, is there anyway possible we can increase the rounds that we play? We played our match in like 15 minutes, i usually just get warmed up in 15 minutes.

Re: Final Tourney Info
Well, it felt short, but it wasn't. I think we finished in just under 45 minutes, and a total of 16 rounds were played (due to the last half getting cut off at 5-4), and they were relatively quick rounds. If a match goes the distance, it can last up to 22 rounds. If teams are a little more patient, the rounds can last longer.
If, after the 1st week, all of the teams agree, we can increase the win requirement to 7 rounds. But let's first see how everyone else feels about it. |

Re: Final Tourney Info
I don't see the point of a warm up.. They don't play warm up games before a match in any other competition that I know of..
If you want to get warmed up, play on the servers before the match. With scheduling as hard as it is, and matches likely to go longer than an hour, I don't know if this will work out. Let's see how things go after week 1. |

Re: Final Tourney Info
First off, it was a fun match! And I agree with the new scoring system Tempus described. It means you'll HAVE to play hard to the end, and it seems fair to me.
I liked the overall length(and remember, our match could have gone 2 more rounds if the server hadn't ended it on us). Also, I think the second half went faster since we all kinda thought it was over after we won 2 rounds. Combine those two, and it easily could have stretched over an hour. Given 2 extremely patient teams, it could go even longer. Anyway, that is my initial impression. Also, I don't think there needs to be a "formal" warm up. I think it is the responsibility of the teams to show up ready to play at the appointed time. If that means you want to warm up ahead of time, then go ahead and do it, ahead of time. I wouldn't want to warm up with the team that we are going to face anyway, but that's just a personal opinion. Tourney is starting out really well! I'm enjoying it! And I thought they were good games in our match! Compliments to our opponants! |

Re: Final Tourney Info
that was the quickest I've ever played a match.... mostly because 2 or 3 years ago when i last played in a match people spent an hour screwing around and it used to drive me crazy. I really enjoyed getting right down to it and seeing who was the better team, even if it wasnt us.
