I don't like this map. Seems like a sniperfast with the Ts having a major advantage. It was hard to form any kind of a strategy as a CT.

Re: Comments on cs_militia

Did you play cs_militia in the original CS? You talk about it like this is your first exposure to the map, but it's a classic CS map?

Throw some smoke and flashbangs into that front yard and give 'em hell.

And then there's the sewers.... ahhh the sewers.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

I like it a lot. It's largely true to the original. What's not to like?

Re: Comments on cs_militia

I didn't like the original either.

One big improvement that I saw though is that the CTs can open the garage from the inside. I don't remember this in the old version.

...but I still don't feel like there are enough options for the CTs.

List the options you see for CTs. We can compare notes?

The CTs seemed to have difficulty with this map... but I haven't played it enough to really formulate some strategies. I think the CTs can pull this off, but it will take a lot more work and planning.

Re: Comments on cs_militia

Militia is easily my all-time favorite CS map. The CTs do have their work cut out for them, but they can't expect to just storm the front of the house with no resistance. Hopefully as the map gets played more and more on the server, good strategies for the CTs will develop.

I like it.
I've only played it for one round so far but I was CT and we kicked butt.

Re: Comments on cs_militia

Hey everyone, just a heads up... DON.MAC and myself are currently working on a version of cs_militia, which is based on the version that the server's version is based on, if you follow that. Being avid militia fans we felt the current version on the server doesn't do militia justice, so we're taking things into our own hands.

While we're doing mostly aesthetic and performance-based changes, we're open to any ideas you may have to make the map better suited for TG.

Thanks!

Re: Comments on cs_militia

Any hostage map based around either an office building or house is good-stuff. I can actually feel like I'm a T or CT, rather than just blowing up a red X on the ground.

PS: I like this map. We get the same sentiments on the NS server. New maps are hated before people even have time to learn them. They are nice and comfortable in the maps they know, they fear change. If you need something to fear, it should be me.

I was always fond of de_militia, too. If you never played it, it was the same map with a bombsite in the garage and one in the corner of the backyard behind that rock.

Re: Comments on cs_militia

Off topic: Best map to ever be played: 747. That map was sooo awesome. You could definately play TG on that map. Ahh...the good old days. Think of the teamwork that would require breaching all 4(ish) entrances at once! Oohhh...

On topic: I def remember militia and I def think it should stay. Didnt know the CTs could open the garage door...wish I HAD known that.

Don't forget how much better smoke grenades are in CS:S. They're the ultimate sniper counter now that they actually obscure vision. All you have to do is survive long enough to get under the roof and the snipers can't do anything, so throw a smoke or two into the opening and make a break for it.

Re: Comments on cs_militia

honestly, unless if you're the only tactical player in the game with 2 flash and 1 smoke, the rest of your team should also carry at least one of each type...and since this is Tactical Gamer, our gaming revolves around Tactical Plays.

so technically, there should be no post complaints on cs_militia in the first place, if you are a tactical player, you would find ways to counter. that's why the buy time is so long, so that you can construct a near idiot-proof plan
