Visible name tags during game play
I was thinking. Is there away to turn off the name tags during game play? I feel it takes away from the realism of the game. Being able to see an enemy’s name tag with out being able to see the enemy is not really realistic. Doing this would make long sniping harder, force people to verify targets and make good camping; I mean hiding, spots even better. Any opinions on this…???
i think this should be disabled server wide(see post below)

Re: Visible name tags during game play
funny i was thinking about that but your putting yourself at a disadvantage, could this be done server wide?
I know there is a command for it. Have to dig it up. |

Re: Visible name tags during game play
Being a nub, I'm against this. Tags are too darn useful in not shooting teammates (not that it helps me ALL the time... :-/).
I've yet to have a situation where I could see a tag but not the player.

Re: Visible name tags during game play
/hints to pokerface, radar and communication :P
The only thing i see holding this back is the fact that the servers are not ready for it. With so many pubbies running around it's more likely to hurt us than help us at this point. Could this be done for the tournament though? |

Re: Visible name tags during game play
If I'm looking at my radar, I'm not looking at the threat in the middle of my screen.
If I'm taking the time to ask for locations, everyone else has to take the time to answer. In both instances, critical time is lost, and a simple tag could've averted it. Tags do no harm. My very very very minor complaint with them is that I wish they defaulted to a smaller font.

Re: Visible name tags during game play
I am all for it being disabled. It would bring some more realism to the game, and cause players to exercise more caution. This was the same situation in DC. A player would have a excellent hiding spot 2 clicks away, and all one had to do is was drag your crosshairs over the horizon, and VIOLA, nametag.

Re: Visible name tags during game play
woot disabling for enemies only would be great.
pokerface, communicating and locating team members should be fluid. That's what devising a plan is all about. Knowing where your teammates are and where your enemies are. When a plan goes bad, communication is what you should rely on, yeah it takes focus to actually speak but this is realistic. I think you'll notice less sneaky shots from a tiny little view spot as well, which in turn means you will have more time to get out of the way and communicate to your teammates. |
