That is the autokick happening if you kill two hostages in the same round. It would be nice if it could be disabled when the hostages are running away, but I don't think its a big problem. It gives extra encouragement to not let the CTs get to the hostages in the first place.

Also kind of unrelated, if the CTs take some but not all of the hostages you need to decide which is the best move: chase down the hostages they have or protect the hostages they don't have. Most of the time I'd protect the untouched hostages.

Again, I like to look at it from the realism angle: If the terrorists lose their hostages, they'll have NO bargaining leverage. Whether the hostage is gone due to death or due to being rescued doesn't really matter at that point, does it? The preference would be to try to save your bargaining leverage, but if that's impossible, kill the hossie along with the CT. That's what a real terrorist would do, isn't it?

Our server does autokick after 2 hostage kills, though, because this situation is a bit more rare than simple abusive hostage killing by pubbies. Or is it more rare?

I would say it's about even cing, I see just as much accidental hostage killing as i do random pubbies killing more than one hostage.

BTW Kark, I don't think you caught the gist of what Root was saying earlier in the thread about, you can't always be certain a teammate hadn't run into the room earlier and died trying to get the hostages out... You can't always be certain the hostages haven't moved.

Re: Weapons fire and hostages

The CTS can move the hostages. I am suprised it doesn't happen more on our server actually. e.g. you could smash a window and take them out the back on Office.

Re: Weapons fire and hostages

Thing is, Uchiha, you can usually tell because:
a) the hosties are on radar and
b) if a ct died, you'll likely see bullet holes, blood, maybe a body, and you might have heard him talk about it. For the hosties to actually move he has to be pretty close to the door, and for the first 2 hosties, he can leave before they move.

But according to wyz and roots post, its a judgement call, and root will be more inclined to kick or slay for it.

This is my biggest gripe. You should know if your teammates are going for hostages and helping them in anyway possible. This all about communication. There is not enough of it and this is why there are statements like "i didn't know" or "i was not told".

Need to up the communication.

Why has the word kick been brought into this? Anyone taking the time to READ my post will see that I used the word SLAY. Is failing to read ANY message I type IN FULL the new black or something?

No, i just assumed that if it was something i kept doing, and hostages kept dieing, you would eventually do a warning kick. I also couldnt be arsed to go back and read your post, as i have a headache.
