Threads like this are necessary to make the best decisions by getting everyones input. I think in this specific scenario its pretty clear that entering the garage area even only as far as the wooden skids or pop machines is going beyond the chokepoint. Therefore you, as a defensive player, are turning the chokepoint from an advantage to a disadvantage. |

Re: Question about Prodigy
but, like jewishninja going into the back office in office, if the enemy is lulled into a false sense of security because of some purely imaginary boundary, that lack of alertness can make up for the temporary loss of a chokepoint.
If you get killed by a rusher, or someone where you dont expect them to be, its your own damn fault, because you should be treating every corner like an enemy is behind it. This is especially true in captains games, where the boundary is even more imagined, and nigh unenforced. |

Re: Question about Prodigy
I'd like to take a chance to justify my reason for running through the garage. In a game like CS strategy must contantly evolve. If a CT pushes outside to take the tactical advantage, and then finds that there are no T's, then it would be wise to push garage and attack them from behind agreed? Now perhaps this is not the sort of strategy you are looking for, and that's fine, I don't want to intrude on your game, I just wanted to explain my thinking behind going garage. ~sunsean
P.S. Rushing is a tactic... |

Re: Question about Prodigy
Ya, I only recently found the site. =P
Ok, I can understand the planning stage. That's nice... most teams do it before entering the battlefield (game) but as this is a public sever I can understand the need for time to discuss with teammates. But then what if the team has already left the start area and begun their attack. Is it not ok to then run throught to spawn if it would give a tactical advantage (perhaps for a time issue) I suppose a nice mod that adds wait time at the beginning of a round if requested (via slash command) would be good in this case. |

Re: Question about Prodigy
lol, ya poe, the idea was that the freeze time stay relativly short... for rounds where the strategy is already set in motion (a couple seconds) and then if requested via say: moretime, or something like that (similar to how rank is achieved) then the freezetime would increase for X amount of time.

Re: Question about Prodigy
Too complicated, and really, there is no need to change the freeze time ever. Not only are there 20 seconds for planning on server 1, 30 seconds on server 2, but there are 7 whole minutes in a round to complete the objective, using some of that time is perfectly fine to use for planning.
Too many people on the servers want to rush and waste everyones time, rushing is the tactic of choice when your teams communication sucks too bad to complete a real strategy. Taking things slowly and planning them out well is the best way to win the round.

Re: Question about Prodigy
Well put Steve. If anyone has experienced playing me while I'm the last person on my team, or listened to most of my plans... the game is often pushed into the last couple minutes =P
