Re: Hit Boxes

<bump> Just a "friendly" reminder. Thought some newer people might want to check this out, and those who missed it before.

Re: Hit Boxes

I swear sometimes it seems I need to lead and other times I don't, it's almost always a bit different each time I connect.

Re: Hit Boxes

I don't notice this really. I'm not sure if I automatically compensate or what, but it feels like I aim right on target without leading.

The hitboxes are supposed to be in front though to compensate for latency. I think it works really well.

The movie is a little misleading.

Re: Hit Boxes

Sadly, this is no substitute for actually being able to aim.

Sorry Root, you'll just have to keep practicing.

Re: Hit Boxes

I wonder what affect server tick rate has on this?

I heard the higher the tick rate the less of a problem it is. The default is 33 I think. All the best servers have it at 100 tick, and it doesn't seem to be as much of a problem.

Again, I don't notice a difference between 33 and 100 tick rate servers either.

Re: Hit Boxes

The only difference Ive ever noticed on higher tick servers is the rate of fire being faster...

Re: Hit Boxes

I know I'm a bit late to the thread, but...

I know the guy who made this. Like you all have sort of noted, online this isn't really a problem. A server with its tick rates and other variables and stuff properly set up will fix it (according to Supernorn, who made the video )

Re: Hit Boxes

Yeah, that original video is completely off. I tried slowing down the timescale and everything.... I shot at the hitboxes, and the bots knifed me to death unharmed. So yeah... I think the video I just posted is way more accurate
