Re: New tourney information posted.

It was hard for me to grasp at first, but the logic is this... Let's say there's a good T map, and A is first on T.. They win the first round 9-2... Sounds like a commanding lead? Well, if it was because of the T advantage, then when B is T, they should have the same chance to go 9-2.. And if they do, then it's still 11-11.. So, who had the advantage?

The only thing that plays into this is momentum.. Other than that, each team has an equal chance on each side. Even if a team goes 11-0, the other team still has a chance to go 11-0 as well after the switch.

As for deciding who goes first, it doesn't matter to me at all.. You guys can pick one from each team to go at it for one round.

Re: New tourney information posted.

Another option would be to halve the number of rounds before switching, and swap at every 6th round. It would mean more swapping, but the aforementioned gripes would be virtually elminated.

Re: New tourney information posted.

I think that it should be totally random, so yall say "for CT, pick from 1 to 10", and gives a member of each team the number. Unless both teams immediately want opposite sides.

Ok, i think it's beginning to penetrate my thick skull now. Thanks.

But, something still niggling at me...if say team X score 10-1 against team Y as CT, then going into the second round, team X as T only need two more wins to win the match?

Would that be game over for the team Y, even though they have only played 2 rounds as CT?

Re: New tourney information posted.

i believe you are right 9. I think this puts more stress on the side you start on for some, but it requires teams to be more balanced.

Re: New tourney information posted.

A good example was our last match.. We lost the 1st round 9-2.. After the switch, the other team won after we lost 3 more rounds.. Get it? To really lose, we had to lose ONE MORE ROUND than we did on the opposite side..

The match was over, but even if we had continued playing and won the rest of the rounds, the other team still would have had the winning record.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO GOES FIRST ON WHICH SIDE. BOTH TEAM HAVE AN EQUAL OPPORTINITY.

Re: New tourney information posted.

you don't have to be a supporting member focus, you just gotta communicate to a team Captain about getting on a team. Since this tournament has already started, there are only sub spots available. I'm sure there will be another tournament though you can get in on a team. keep yourself updated on the forums.

Wait is it that map with the cts staring at that HUGE open area that has a bomb site next to the road block?

Actually Tempus... There is a physcological advantage to being on the winning side first. Not that anything can be done, but you can make the sides random.
