I believe that now, the way the script works:

So all SMs have temp-admin capabilities. Their abilties are superceded when an actual admin comes on the server.

So if I am on, and Phix was temp admining, I take on the admin role. When I leave, Phix is given the temp-admin back.

So any SM could take up the TA role, if they so choose. If they do, they best have read all the SOPs, the Temp Admin Guide, etc., since they are the LAW in our absence.

Re: My to do list....

I understand that, but there will still be times where no admins OR SAs will be on.

At that point when bad maps no one wnats to play start coming on, people will start to leave.

Re: My to do list....

Due to the simple fact that your'e average CS:S player is looking for a fast server with some people on it, you could make server 2 public and open it for use until we get some more players interested in PCS. It's obvious that we would have people from outside playing, we see it all the time in server 1.

Also, I strongly agree with Sampson in the fact that it would be better if we had more people who could plan and give creative strategies. On top of that, people who could/would aide their commander in completing their objective *using* said strategy. I wish that I was capable of being a commander, but most of the time my plans suck . Regardless of that, when someone is giving out a good plan for attack, I make sure to listen, and therefore learn. I think a lot of people who play on the server regularly need to take some time to learn from these type of players.

A PCS training session is needed. I would attend. Hopefully people would take to it, and actually learn something, then use it.

One more thing, what would be really, REALLY cool, is if people utilized TC. Then, they could set up matches and have their own teams and everything . In fact, there is a whole system in place on TC for people to do that.

Is it really a hardship to just get on and play if a bad map comes on? Unless you get stuck with train and view, you're only likely to get a single bad map.

Besides, there's always server 2 for those willing to raise their standard of play.

Do your plans suck, or do they need to be refined? Did they fail because your team didn't listen? Was it simply that the other team was stacked with tactical players or twitchers? Keep throwing plans out, keep looking at why they fail. I can take an entire team of CT's up long hall on italy, and be exfiltrating before the T's know whats happening. I can also get a team of CT's killed on the way up long hall. All depends on co-operation, communication, the make up of the other team and a healthy dollop of luck.

PCS training will return later this year. It's one of my top priorities for the community.

Anyone who read this thread will know that there are teamspeak channels for CT and T.

This may be a dumb question, but shouldnt the "standard" of PCS play be the same of that on server 1 as it on server 2

Re: My to do list....

You mean "hardcore" on server 1, or "softcore" on server 2?

Personally I enjoy the way they have it set up.

Yes, it should. Many people, including many of those that think they play PCS, still don't have a clue, which is why we have server 1 for training.

As I understand it there is a cvar which tells the world what game the server is running. I think that was how it was pre-steam anyway. Would it be posible to still run CS:S but change the cvar from "cstrike" to "pcs"? That would get it out of the server browsers.

I think he was refering to TC as in www.TacticalConflict.com not TS as in Teamspeak

Yes, I thought I read a post where someone said something about having scheduled team matches and stuff. But after skimming through the thread, I didn't see it. (????) I don't know where it came from then....

Re: My to do list....

I would like to see the Player Limit shift to either 16 or 18 person Maximum. I constantly see good TG Non Supporting members get kicked for reserved slot, while i know it dosnt help the community in the $ aspect, i believe a short term trial could prove valuable to increasing Tg Popularity. There arnt 2 Public Servers, so people are constantly set to auto join once people leave, or they leave and go to another pub if not go to another game.

The more players, the higher the chances that the server turns into a frag fest. AFAIK, the 14 player limit was arrived at after a lot of thought. It was decided that this was the optimum number for tactical play.
