Radio discipline *does* take time to master.

If sound sound "like an idiot" on comm, I'm sure someone will let you know

The golden rule with radio comms is short and precise. If for some reason you can't manage precise, for your teams sake at least keep it short, so that anyone else trying to give better intel can get in.

Re: Talk TOO Much?

There are people that talk to much about stuff that doesnt really apply. And that is when the round has started.

There is also a lot of "there is no plan" but there is almost never "Ok there is no plan, here is what i suggest".

There is to much crap in the mics and not enough of whats going on in the game.

50% of whats typed seems to be missed.

Re: Talk TOO Much?

Yeah, there is a lot of crap in the mics. The voices suck for one. :P

I think I go back and forth. Sometimes I'm typically more quiet and give the important information, unless I'm planning... other times (like as a CT on office), I will call out every advancement I make, every flash, every area clear... and when nobody else is, it feels odd. And if other people are, it clutters the comm. It is a toss-up.

And Bloodbane, I know what you mean about not knowing your location. I feel like an idiot whenever I'm like "Enemies spotted... uhm... down this hall over here." Or, as is the case sometimes: "Enemies spotted... uhm...." *DEAD*

Beth's advice of basically saying "Enemies on me!" is good, though sometimes it just doesn't suffice. Plus it sucks when you're dead, and everyone is confused about where it came from.

As for Mateo's comm layout thing-ee-ma-bobber: it's too complicated. I doubt I would be able to memorize it in any short period of time. I would leave it as more of a guideline, encouraging and insisting that players keep their comms nice and concise.

touché fine sir, but If you set your TS kotkey, and your ingame voice hotkey as the same, you cover both worlds.

HA HA Check.

This also applies when you assume that teammembers look at the radar like i do.
I actually try to keep my name short, as I advise everyone else does, so that when you are voice comming you can see the player location int his format:
.143Beth@long hall
|TG|.143Beth@long hall
|TG-PCS|.143Beth@lon...
|TG|.143Beth|PCS Prov...

you get the picture. I wanna rep all the things i can put in my name, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty it doesnt make sense. Give your team an advantage and KISS. root, is and excellent example for this:

root@long hall, in the little opening 3/4 the way down
He has the best name ever for this advantage, or 9V

You have to look at the little things in the game that help out. a few are:
Radar
player location via radio
player location via voice
all of this can help you locate players in game, i actually considered dropping the .143 in my name.
Look at my forum name compared to my css one i took off the ©and the space between 3 and B

when you get this serious in a game like Tg does, everything counts

That's great. If I'm running TS, I can't use my mic in-game. If I run CS first, I can't use my mic in TS. I can't be the only person with that problem
