Last time I got banned from TG, the dialogue box actually stated that I was banned. Unless valve have changed that in recent updates, it should still be the same.

You may have been dropped due to a supporting member coming in at the same time or even slightly after you connected.
The server has been packed the last couple nights.

That raised a few eyebrows, huh? A certain admin who shall remain nameless (we'll call him Keith) answered a query on how to unban someone. Being a complete n00b at admining, I blindly followed his advice and dropped a perma ban on myself
 Obviously there was retribution (many times). I may have been tricked, but at least I don't have hideous dress sense like the admin who tricked me   Root
