Re: Language!

I need to address a few points. First those not dealing specifically with the topic at hand.

Dirtboy, I think you meant "Welshmen" there

I'd like to clarify that I was referring to the Sean Connery James Bond, not those sissy boys which followed him.

This is an official exception to the SOP's, which state a warning will always be given first.
I support this under the assumption that admins can what's beneath those ****, and that this doesn't occur just because you see them appear. I was making the comment on the server the other night explaining that a TG member present at the time was homosexual, and it would be in his best interest to not try to use 'gay' negatively, only to notice my message contained "****sexual" and "***". While I disagree with these word filters even existing, I can support them under the argument that the PCS server isn't exactly the best forum for discussion of sexuality. (I however don't see it as purely inappropriate as it is a common political issue, and we enjoy a good off-topic discussion sometimes in mm1 or while dead.

Amen to that.

And if someone ever makes anyone feel uncomfortable on a TG server, TG member or not, PM an admin and it should be taken care of, that's not cool. Not saying anyone was just reiterating

I'm 20; I live with 3 other college students, and there's rarely a conversation that takes place in my house without excessive swearing. However, when I hit my voicecomm key, that's never going to happen, and when I connect to TG, I don't expect to hear it.

People say that playing video games is escapism. For me, TG is my escape to a home where I can expect to interact with mature individuals who hold themselves to a high standard of etiquitte and mutual respect for their fellow gamer. We are the black-tie (with guns) affair of gaming, compared to the drunken kdr-frat-party-pubs which litter Steam. We are a community of James Bonds, lethal, cunning, intelligent, and high-class.

Let's leave the doritos and bud at the door when we connect, pick up our Martini and USP, and enjoy a good clean game.
A veritable TG quote cornicopia! Starstarstarstar, that was good!

Bans are your invitation to PM the admin that banned you. TG isn't out to punish people just for the sake of punishment, but rather imposes bans as an assurance that bad behavior will be checked. Once the admin is convinced that you understand where you went wrong, chances are good you'll be back in the game.

No one wants a player gone, but rather the bad behavior gone.

I think it goes the same for the Admins who are dishing out the admining of the servers in the sense that before you jump all over a player you should be mature and respectful in allowing discourse to resolve the situation first instead of kicking/banning then asking questions afterwards. Admittedly I am sure you all have your bad days but where I come from the first thing that comes with admin powers is the respectfully not using them unless it is necessary.

I'd also like to note in response to the fact that young people should not be playing these games, gobe (younges cs player) does play and though I wont disclose his age here, he is...pretty young.

That isn't a fact, it's an opinion.

What difference does it make how old someone is as long as they grasp the rules and the tactical gameplay? Gobe is quite young, but he seems to be getting along just fine and is making the effort to learn the splendor that is PCS .

I can understand that sometimes there may be kids jumping on to ruin our game by tk'ing, cursin', etc. but we have admins to take care of that. I say if they aren't hurting anything, why exclude them from the fun?

If it is because of a moral issue (violence, etc.) than I can't (nor can you) do anything about it. That's his parents' prerogative, and we aren't going there. Am I wrong?

Well said Whistler...And AVS, you were kicked for TK's, and nothing more. Mateo gave everybody a warning.

Re: Language!

LOL Gobe is 11, figured I would just say it so when he gets his MIC next week, everyone won't have to ask how old he is...LOL!!!

He is coming along just fine...learning to listen to some of the regulars and learning the ropes and the maps...

With his young twitching abilities combined with the knowledge of some of the regulars, by the time he is Dirtboys age he will be ruling the server...LOL!!!

Edit and add: Also, I would almost rather him learning and playing with us upstanding citizens then on some of the frag monkey servers.

I mean we have wonderful leaders such as Ben...errr...ok Whistler....HMMM...let me see Dirtboy...Well heck Gobe if your reading any of this run man run...LOL!!!

In all honesty this is a great server and community and the afore mentioned people are great people to learn from...much better then most if not all frag/kill/swear servers...
