Re: Your BEST Christmas Present

My wife and I bought our first house earlier this year and being an apartment renter for my whole previous life I hadnt had much of a chance to build a decent tool collection. so, most of her family set to buying me Craftsman power tools. (compund miter saw, circular saw, air compressor)
My parents got me an Xbox 360 with Enchanted Arms and Ghost Recon. And even though theyre truckers and arent around very much, they made it a point to come to my house for xmas this year (thats a present in its own right)

Im happy!

Best xmas in a long while. And not just because of the gifts.

Re: Your BEST Christmas Present

Not even close to game related but this year I got a Coffe Roster from Alpenrost

Being a coffe enthusiast this is one of the most exciting presents I´ve gotten for a long time....

For those who have never seen or heard about a roster, it is an apparatus for burning raw coffebeans to your preference.

Re: Your BEST Christmas Present

Unfortunately the roasting prcess has two distinct flavours.
1. The inital stage where it smells burnt, and it is not too pleasant....
2. The cooling stage(after 2nd crack) where the wonderfull aroma comes out.....

Re: Your BEST Christmas Present

I was a barista at a espresso shop, I can made some sick espresso drinks. Ever heard of Inteligencia? They roast some good beans (black cat espresso) so good.
I dont know much about roaster coffe but im sure its fun. Messing around with temperatures and timing on an espresso machine to find the best taste is a fun challenge.

ESPRESSO GOOD!

Re: Your BEST Christmas Present

IF you want to play at roasting yo can always get a HOT AIR pop corn popper. The style that spins around and spits out the popped corn at the top. You can only roast a little at a time but it is a really cheap starter set. The green coffee beans acualy roast and there is a little skin (chaff) that comes off of them. They actualy have a cracking/popping sound as they get hot. There can be a first and second crack depending on the type of bean. Afterwards you have to put it in a collander and shake it about to help cool them down because internaly they are still roasting. Heck with it... here is a link to do something like what I was explaining http://coffeetea.about.com/library/w...903popcorn.htm ....

My friend and I would use this method to try different roasts and type of beans before we actualy bought a big amount to use in a nice size real roaster.

As far as favorite gift... Probably would have to be a gold ring that had been my grandfathers that my wife had resized to fit me. Nice sentimental gift.

Of course all the DVDs were nice as well...The Pico Z Copter....and the Wii whenever I can find a store that has it in stock...LOL!

Re: Your BEST Christmas Present

Best gift this year would have to be the Xbox 360 my wife surprised me with. I was so shocked - and being a PC gamer - I didn't know how to react. But once I fired up Gears of War I was all smiles.

I can't believe she's feeding my addiction. Now I need to find a good game that will entertain her while I play on TG.
