Re: New Mouse Needed
I like my G5. It is a nice mouse. I was going to get the G7, pretty much exactly the same as the G5, except it is wireless, and instead of adjustable weights there is a battery for the wireless, but, I heard it didn't get that good of battery life, so I got the cheaper, corded version, and am very happy.
The G5 is a very popular gaming mouse. BTW. |

Re: New Mouse Needed
FYI, Razer has their new Death Adder available for order. It's corded and according to one major gaming site (the address escapes me at the moment, search for it!
) it tests out at the top of the corded mice.

I love this thing and have been using varients of it for awhile too. I even have a spare one I use at work. Please note, the trackball we use is a thumb track ball. These are ideal for gaming because of how delicate you can get with thumb movements in your right hand. Track balls that use other buttons I've found are not as good for gaming however. Especially pointer finger trackballs. Those are almost the worst. The worse are those track balls that use four buttons around a central sphere.

Re: New Mouse Needed
I will continue the whole "G5" scene, its a GREAT mouse. The various speeds make for great on the fly sensitivity changing, and the weights really come in handy at land party's (For when i don't have a mouse pad and the table tops feel different)
I think you can find a great deal on a Logitech G5 now, around say 30-40 bucks on a good day.

Re: New Mouse Needed
That's why wireless trackballs rock. The heavness of wireless mice are no worries here. And actually, my wireless track ball is pretty light with only 1 AA battery in it.

Re: New Mouse Needed
This is great! I've been after a new mouse for ages but just haven't got it together to get one. Been making do with an old (and grubby) Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse. But after reading this thread I have just place an order for a A4Tech X750 mouse.
You will all know when I unpack it from the wrapping, cos it'll be head shots all round! Nice one people, thanks for helping me make this choice. I'm also planning on getting a new gfx card but am limited to AGPx8, currently using an FX5200 which can just about handle CSS using DX7 (!) Any recommendations? (I'll post a new thread to see what you have to say on this one). I look forward to reading your suggestions. Until then, happy fraggin.

Re: New Mouse Needed
Thanks for that Rookie, I did think about askin, but as Root said, postage cost would probably outweigh the difference. I just paid £24 ($50) with free delivery. If you can beat that then you've got yourself a deal!

Re: New Mouse Needed
Eh, Keyboard, nahh. Too much extra money for something that's not needed. I just use a 5 dollar optical mouse. It spazzes out randomly sometimes like, without moving it, it'll like, flip my view to the other side of the map, which also explains why i can do that cool constant spinny thing sometimes, which ALSO explains 3/4's of my deaths, but it does the job.
