Would that be the Operation Medusa thing from last year? It matches the description.

I hope the pilots aren't disciplined. They kept querying the fact that there appeared to be orange panels on the vehicles. They kept querying if there were friendlies in the area.

I felt sick to my stomach when this was on the news. How can the media even play this. Ratings?
We cant control chaos, but we can take certain measures in preventing mishaps like this. But "poop" (lack of a better word) happens. I feel the individuals responsible should not be held liable for what happened, that is war...suck it up and press on. But at the same time lets pay our respects to those killed in this accident.
Compare the friendly fire stats to those now and you will be shocked. I think that we are taking every step possible to prevent this sort of thing happening. We cannot point the finger to them, only learn from our mistakes

Re: For you Pilots. Friendly Fire US vs. Brits Video

I feel bad for the British troops and for the A-10 pilots. Unfortuneatly the pilots will be scarred for life with what happened. And the families this effected will be the ones who ultimately lose something very important. Whoever was the person(s) who gave the green light should be reprimanded at the very least. The chain of communication was broken and lives were lost.

This is why communication is so important in real life and in our games. Obviously it's more important in the field as I am sure Ben and others can tell you.

A-10 Pilots have it rough~

Not only right after black hawks and H-6's are they the most likely to take massive amounts of fire, and the A-10 has a really really bad history of Blue on Blue incidents.
