Re: Faces of TG CS:S

*Labels everyone in thread emo*

Keep on slicing. no wait, trucking.

Anyway, putting a label on someone just becuase they like a certain type of music is silly.

See, i own all slayer albums. and a bunch of frank sinatra and elvis. And i think they are equally good.
I'd be scared if someone came up with a label for that.

I find all this quite amusing, since you have a NIN banner in your sig: can't get much more emotional than that. Ok, so it's industrial Emo, but still, all that thrash supports some serious navel gazing.
NIN has been around since the late 80's, so I think its a little late to try to label Trent "Emo" now. Granted the last few albums have been sub par, listen to pretty hate machine and tell me thats the same genre as Good Charlotte.

You own an elvis album. I believe the label for that kind of person is tasteless. Owning decent albums isn't going to earn you redemption.

Re: Faces of TG CS:S

Do you really find that funny? Do you honestly believe it's acceptable to use it in this community, which amongs other things, expects respect?

Sorry. I didn't intend for it to be insulting, and didn't write the text. Ah well. You have my apologies.

A variety of tastes is a good thing, Root! What are you smoking? If he wants to listen to mediocre rock AND mediocre thrash, he can do that.

I'll listen to Muse, Floyd, Sodom, Cryptopsy, Deathspell Omega, NIN, and anything else that I want to. Variety is good.

Re: Faces of TG CS:S

Elvis, together with the beatles, were the beginning of the dark days. They were used to bring about the abomonition that is called the music industry. It's an evil that puts image before talent, and has resulted in countless crappy boy bands miming their medicore lyrics (usually written by a song writing machine like diane warren or pete waterman).

It's all about money now, when what it should be about is people with real talent writing and performing their music because they love doing it. It's a cultural apocalypse. Even talented country musicians are selling out. Art cannot be about money.

Re: Faces of TG CS:S

Cannot? More like, it SHOULDN'T.

You do not need to be very talented to make enjoyable music. It certainly helps, though.

See thats just a sign that you probably heard a single off the fragile first, then heard pretty hate machine, so youre more inclined to lean towards that album. Most NIN fans agree that Pretty Hate Machine is one of if not Trents best album. The fragile was sub par, and I havent had a chance to listen to with teeth yet, but from what I hear, its just trent trying too hard nowadays.

ANYWAYS, back to the subject of the thread, my site was down earlier because of some maintenance on my hosts server, but its up and running fine now, so go see what the face of Durka looks like.
